You can tell he was working out with KD over the summer. He gets low when he dribbles which has to be a HUGE focus when you're that tall.

Chet slowed down a lot last season. His strength & conditioning was the concern coming out of college. He played all 82 games in the season and you could see the fatigue in his arc when playoffs hit. Especially being the only Center. Now I think everyone will get to see more of his game especially now Giddeys touches are dispersed

The Thunder will have the best D in the NBA this year. The perimeter has 2 of top 5 in steals last year (Caruso and SGA) + The Dorture Chamber , + Jdub with 7'2" wing span, + Cason Wallace! Then if anyone gets past that, you run into Chet and Hartenstein at the rim! These guys just delete offense.

HE KNOWS BALL! But forreal, great video. Doubling his FTA and RA FG is insane. He has been amazing in the short roll this year, as you mentioned. His rebounding leap looks real (but will dip when Hartenstein and JWill come back) and the defense just continues to get better. That game against Denver he completely owned Jokic, seriously. This Thunder team has so much potential it’s insane. I also agree with your belief that they could be an elite defensive team of the last decade. Presti and that org does so much for their players to maximize their skills. Multi year finals run incoming! So excited to follow along.

Chet is HIM! I don't know why so many people hated his skinny frame, like c'mon it's basketball not football, there is foul after gentle touch, you don't need to be jacked. Chet is 7'1 with skills of a guard, his special.
@J-Hue
@J-Hue 29 күн бұрын
Now he's down with a hip injury from trying to go body to body on ablock attempt. Him being skinny isn't in and of itself a problem. But those kind of issues were and are the concern. If he learns how to play a style appropriate for his size, he can be great.

I'm not a hardcore fan, but it seems to me that Chet has a better feel of the game than Wemby. Chet's dribbling, drives, pump fake, fadeaway look fluid, like KD does. Wemby seems kind of out of control when he drives and it feels like his body is uncoordinated and "laggy" in some way (maybe its just because wemby is taller). Yes Wemby probably has higher potential from his physical attributes, but many people don't reach their physical potential... while other less physically gifted player who has better feel of the game, end up being the overall better player.

Question? Why did wemby win roty? Chets stats dwarf his. Was it bc he avg .3 black more per game? Genuinely I need some help. Chet alone gave his team a 15+ wins
@-OAK-
@-OAK- 2 ай бұрын
Going in wemby was the favorite to win, Chet had a way better first half of the season, but then he started to slow down and his stats were deflating, going from I think 19 point a game to around 14 or 16ppg while wemby kept improving his stats. Wemby is also the first option for his team, while Chet was the 3rd. So wemby was seen to be doing more for his team, but really wemby being 1st inflated his stats and Chet had deflated stats by being 3rd I think Chet was the better player but he just couldn’t keep that pace up. If he can keep up his current pace he will win DPOY, he’s 1st in blks pg and I’d 2nd in rebounds

I just HATE this "assertiveness" talk. It is SO unfair to players who play within their roles. And it deifies selfish ball hogs. Holmgren took fewer shots because that is what his coaches wanted of him. And because the team had other scoring opinions among veteran players who has already "paid their dues."

Cut this bullshit Chet is a third option playing with the guy who should have won mvp last year. Chet sees NO double or triple teams. He's a good player but MVP with guys like Victor and Luka playing? Nah....Chet gets a TON of open threes from SGA's gravity
