In the early 20s, Chettiars from southern India was the business lord in East Singapore. As the British money lending process was complicated in the early 20th century, Chettiars' way of money lending was different. They used to call that Katangi, a unique kind of bank. With the experience and intelligent mind, they build a business worth 40 billion dollars. Their services were humble and people-centric. Without Chettiars Singapore wouldn't have been a financial capital.
