That's one of the interpretations I've posited before! Perhaps Stavro just experienced true ego death, but who knows - even they don't.

Chevalie also has some fun minor cultures around. My favorites is the Oejyczan or whatever, who are the survivors of the Sorrowing the liches did. Just some polish people doing their best to survive. One thing I like about Godherja is I'll often be looking at the map and see a tiny culture that only exists in one province. I'll look into it, follow the links, and have a new favorite bit of the lore that is only mentioned if you dig into things. Like, every notice out in the foglands paper map there's this odd black splotch? That was the capital of the ancient enemy of Aversaria that vanished in a hellstorm of magic so hard that the name of its capital and line of kings were genuinely annihilated from history, and I only got to this by poking around a tiny culture and looking at the in-game lore. So much thought and effort. It's so good. I'm happy to see more videos from you about this.

The Iyrossi are kind of like that in game. Small and have been subjugated for over 1k years but, like dwarves, long in their simmering plots for revenge.

@@Soul_Tomato that's what I mean. That region is full of very small niche cultures including the one remnant of an ancient Empire. It's a really cool area to look around
