Liselotte is a wonderful woman! How she, in real life and in the series, allows to be nothing more then a providor of and caretaker for children, even those who weren't hers. And still in history, she and Philippe gave each other friendship and love. The way she tries to compromise in here is wonderful!

sadly this is writer's adding this element to the show. in real life, she hated him and louis xiv's illegitimate children to the point she slapped her son when he agreed to marry a daughter by Louis XIV and Montespan in front of the whole court.

@@laceybennett6966 Lisalotte? I am confused
@lilir60723 жыл бұрын
@@thumaido264 Why confused? Historical people and their film representations, as well as their mutual relations, are not necessarily identical - otherwise it'd be a documentary and not a show for the masses. however, I do think the script writers could have followed the historical/factual line of the dynamics of their relations. However, it would not have been as emotionally charged, not to mention that the film version of the forced 'menage a trois' caters to a substantial number of women who finds homoerotic relations in modern times or throughout history fascinating (and why and how it's debatable - I myself are guilty as charged in this case ;) ) To us, retelling is attractive for a number of tropes - but on the second note: would any woman in the 'Western' society nowadays let another man have a lover while getting her pregnant - I think not that easily.

In the series finale...the three lovers made a family bond. A family that would stay together in a united front. Lisilotte, I believe is is thoroughly invested in the bond, she has fallen in love with her husband and knows he is not in love with her but she seems to have decided that Philippe allowing her to love him will be enough. Lisilotte has accepted Chevalier as a brother and a friend. She considers that all three have a bond...a marriage of sorts. I often ask my friends...can a man or a woman be in love with two people at once? I think Lottie believes, she can.
@paigecat91043 жыл бұрын
Real Lisilotte hated Chevalier took her decades to accept him. She hated allot of people in the French court. Sad if you think about it. Many film writers take their own spin on how they would like it to be but the reality isn't always true.

I am not crazy about what the writers have done with Chevy's character this season - but I do think Evan Williams has taken what they have written and knocked it out of the park.His performance has been pure perfection and this video shows that. I love this video. Bravo to you!! If the view count skyrockets you can blame me!

Oh dear...I like it, wait, no...I LOVE it! I’m just sitting in front of my laptop right now with my eyes full of tears! You’ve combined all the scenes so perfectly and I really appreciate the idea of putting a dialog between Chevalier and Liselotte throughout the whole video. As always I need to say that you’ve made a fantastic music choice. I like Max Richter (esp. the song called “November”). Your video has the right atmosphere, I feel like I'm getting deeper and deeper into it. The funny thing is that recently I’ve started working on my MonChevy video too (finally!:D) and the more I make it the more I want to dedicate it to Chevalier only! So I’m totally agree with your description. I would like to give a big standing ovation to Evan who just showed a vulnerable and scared man underneath a mask of a sassy aristocrat. Btw, have you seen his new wig for the 3rd season? Omg, it’s perfect! And thank you so much for mentioning me in your description, it means a lot! Hope to see more of your edits! X
@MsEleanorShelby7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the praise. I'm glad you like it. Funny that you also tend to put Chevalier in the center of your MonChevy project. Season 2 is just Evan's season. It will be interesting if and how the dynamic between MonChevy will change in season 3, when Chevalier's place at court is no longer dependent on Philippe. And yeah, I saw the fotos from the set taken by Richard Clark. Evan looks beautiful. The new wig looks not so curly, I would like that. And I was thrilled to see a pic of him horse-riding. That looked great. Maybe we get some MonChevy together on the campaign against William of Orange. We'll see.
@sunandstars95997 жыл бұрын
Yes, his new wig is just gorgeous! And I was also thinking about him following Philippe to the battlefield? As far as I know historically Chevalier was actually a brave warrior who was strictly wounded in one one the battles. His wound was burned with a hot iron and he got through this with honor. That’s why I’m a little bit confused why does he refuse to accompany Philippe in both seasons. Maybe now it’s time for him to show some courage.
@AnzuBrief7 жыл бұрын
I know, right? I think they turned his character into a "gay character" caricature this season. He was a brave warrior, and he was cunning and clever, despite his many vices. I can't see him threatening to kill himself, just to earn Philip's love...
@sunandstars95997 жыл бұрын
I know what you mean. I'm not fond of Chevalier's character in the second season because I know too much about his historical prototype. And this is my problem. I'm constantly thinking "Oh, they could mention this or that..." But I think we all should face the fact that this show is only based on history but it doesn't claim to be 100% historic. If you read Liselotte's letters you'll see that Philippe also had very little in common with the character of Alex Vlahos. But we all love Philippe because Alex played this role beautifully so we just have to accept this new Chevalier as well. I've already put up with the thought that we'll never see him on war and never see his courage:(
@AnzuBrief7 жыл бұрын
That's a pity. I think it's amazing how Philip and Chevalier stuck together for 50 years. I know they had their ups and downs, but still, I could compare them to a few mythical couples such as Alexander and Hephastion.

Where on earth am I? you think I'm stupid or not computer smart? I'm in America, I live in Boston, and you only can watch BBC 2 in England, the U.K. even the BBC iPlayer. You think I'm so stupid I didn't try to watch season 2 on BBC2 with the iPlayer before posting my question? Not even BBC America has the 2nd season. And so just you know I do have a TV licence. Maybe I should have posted my question like this: Does anybody know where I can watch Season 2 in America? BBC America doesn't have it and you only can watch BBC 2 online if you're in the UK If you know where IN AMERICA I can watch season 2, thank you. If you don't, shut the fuck up

I understand that you were angry about his reply, but it's not good to escalate things further with more and bigger insults. That's why I deleted that reply of yours. Prove you're better by being the smarter person, think what you want, but to fight here doesn't do any good, it just gets worse. Spare your energy for more enjoyable things.
