During our Chevelle project we test a stock chassis to see how much flex it has. It has a ton! We also checked our ExtReme Chassis and the Stock Chassis with our brace kit. See the back to back to back results in this short sumamry video. We set up the test by laying a bar across the front frame horns and going out about 18 inches on the passenger side adn applied 140 lbs of weight. The results are amazing! At these loads the reinforced chassis and the Extreme chassis are the same in this regard.

That is awesome to see especially since I just finished welding in you frame brace kit on my 65 Chevelle.

I have to agree this really isn't a good comparison. First get all three chassis configured the same, next load thru the wheels and react at body mounts and at the powertrain mounts. Twisting the frame artificially hints to improved strength but really does nothing to relate to how an actual frame deflects under load.

Would it make sense to box the front of the frame too? Or does the radiation support work good enough?

Good question Jason! In simple terms anything in front of the front axle or behind the rear axle is not critical so adding material in these areas is not a structural enhancement. Additionally the added weight would be a draw back.

Uh, you guys know how a fulcrum works right? You all removed about 750 pounds from the front half of the chassis. The fact that you don't have an engine and transmission in the other chassis makes this test complete and utter bunk. Put the *same motor and trans* in the chassis and show the real results. Gimme a break.

Having the engine and trans, with crossmembers in make it stronger. It gave it multiple points of horizontal connection. Therefore, not having an engine, trans and the trans crossmember it actual has less horizontal structure. So, adding an engine and trans would even make it stronger, right?

First gen Camaro's aren't full body frames. They are Unibody.

Hey K Rob, SBuckmann is correct the Camaro is not a full frame car so the test would be different but we might be able to do something similar. I'll look around and see with we have a stock Sub Frame here.

@@SpeedtechPerformance Perfect, that would be great. I know it’s not a full frame car, however, it could show the improved rigidity with your front subframe suspension as well as subframe connectors. Thanks.

Currently no plans for G-Body, look up P2 Fabrication in Long Beach for G-Body stuff. Frankie probably has the fasted G-Body on the planet, so far as one that can go around corners.:)

Gbody frames are pretty flimsy, look up info and videos on schwartz frames
This C3 Corvette was built for the track but looks like a Street Car!
