This song is about one of Pete's closest friends that was misdiagnosed with an attention deficiency disorder and was prescribed Ritalin (vitamin R) and got addicted to the drug and went through a'lot of rehab and other help... When you piece it all together the video shows how It effected everyday things. One of Chevelle's songs that actually have a story behind it. Just focus on the lyrics and it all adds up. edit: For all of you who dont believe heres the making of the album with a refrence of the song kzbin.info/www/bejne/bn_JYmdpZr15j6c

Yes you can get addicted because it influences the amount of dopamine that reaches the receptors and stuff. Good for those who need it. Bad for the others. Students use it for higher productivity because it's easy to get. Or simply to get high.

The sound of this band is like chaotic harmony. I absolutely love it. Excellent video as well. It's so relatable to how lost I can get in my own head with ADHD. Interesting fact... yes, the song is about Ritalin, but it's also about somebody they know that got misdiagnosed with ADHD. They got addicted to it.

It's bad enough I want the fear... need the fear [Pre-Chorus] Cause he's alone (he has become) He's alone (he has become) [Chorus:] Well if they're making it, making it Then they're pushing it, pushing it And they're leading us along The hassle of all the screaming fits That panic makes remorse After all, what's the point? Course levitation is possible. If you're a fly; achieved and gone Theres time for this and so much more. It's typical - create a world A special place of my design To never cope or never care just use the key [Pre-Chorus] Cause he's alone (he has become) He's alone (he has become) [Chorus] Over and Over a slave Became Over and Over a slave Became Over and Over a slave Became Over and Over a slave Became

Yes sadly true Ï have attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and Ï take vyvanse for it no one can really relate except another ADHD person
@lucassmith45248 жыл бұрын
I have add without the hyper activity. Im 36 and I take some sort of amphetamines whenever I can. Before anybody judges me for eating crystal meth ( I don't smoke it, used to shoot it but I never really had the veins for it) imagine going through life without focus lasting more than five minutes at a time. Imagine sitting down to do something, perhaps it is a hobby and something that you like to do( or would like to do), but you can't get anything done because you space out and if you are alone with nobody to ride your ass ( who would want to do that anyway?) you may suddenly come to and see that 40 minutes has passed in which you were just...not there. Might as well have been meditating for as much thinking I did during that time. Imagine trying to talk to somebody but you can't stay on topic and can barely make sense or utter an intelligible sentence for that matter. Imagine seeing your loved ones ( and the people you thought were your loved ones wince when you try to talk..
@lucassmith45248 жыл бұрын
.......I don't compulsively clean house and talk a mile a minute don't stay up for two weeks at a time (I go to bed every night) . Basically stuff like meth or adderall allows me to act normally, behavior that most take for granted every day. I wish I did not have to have a prescription or didn't have to buy drugs off the street just so I don't "act like a freak all the time". but that is not the world we live in. The point is, if you know someone with ADD or ADHD cut them some slack, be patient with them, don't judge them, and please don't call them "freaks" words hurt.

Never knew the meaning of this song after all these years and probably explains what I felt hearing it the first time. But I was a kid who was diagnosed with anger problems and ADHD when I was in foster care and the prescribed me Adderall and risperidone... Both of them made me feel miserable for years I'm 24 now and I'm still dealing with alot of mental issues but things that I al!ost seem to induce in myself. Dealing with a backwards relationship and can't find a job currently just hoping things will eventually go my way. It's sad as well cause I feel so left out all the time knowign I come from a black family with a whole bunch of ignorant family members. My brothers are all mostly in gangs or in the street and all the pressure was put on me before I was even 18 to be the one to lead my siblings to do right and I'm struggling to find myself...... Ps I was always frowned upon for listening to rock music and being myself. Just cant understand the logic of people

slitechguy9 Trust me back then I'm with you. Chevelle isn't quite a name you'll hear everyday. Their style though was so different it was easy enough to recognize out of all musics. Eventually it is true good that you looked into it. Better late than at all.

Greatest rock band of all time. One of only a few bands with no filler songs on any of there albums. How they were not bigger is beyond me? Shows you that people just don’t understand great music

This song's subject matter is close to me. Musically it's intoxicating... powerful and so melodic. The album this song comes from "This type of thinking ( could do us in ) " is still my favorite Chevelle record. It's seriously this good start to end!

Chevelle has so much respect from me. More so than a lot of other rock bands because instead of pandering to their fans too much or trying to appeal to mainstream media, they just write songs for kicks and don't care if people love them or not. They aren't metal, or rock or even alternative rock. They simply just ARE. There is only one Chevelle. No other band can write songs as well as they can or portray feeling and images so simply through words. I really hope I can see them live someday.

An old song but deeply one of my favorites and still prevalent. Was diagognosed and kept back a full year of schooling to "see the difference", it gave me a slew of side effects and occds such as washing my hands relentlessly to picking and eating my own hair rituralistically. During middle school I had several fist sized bald spots on my head, arms and legs. Other kids of course mocked and bullied me over it. Eventually I tried not taking the crap but family got teachers involved, imagine strangers forcing you mouth open to make sure you swallowed a yellow pill. Just started to force myself to vomit when I could, once I got it out of my system everyone cheered how well it must have been working since I "improved". To this day I have never forgiven my family, the school system or the doctors for the hell I suffered to be "fixed".

what’s the point cuz levitation is possible ♥️ i been addicted to stims on and off ever since i was diagnosed w ADHD as a kid. They definitely ruined my life and i regret ever being out on them. It lead to being addicted to crystal off and on and losing everything to building it back up and losing it again. Being up for a week at a time. The paranoia and hallucinations u will swear was real. Songs like this really speak to me and help me get thru it all.

I almost thought he was a psychiatrist for a split second. Like in his guilt... but nevermind. That's not what he's doing. Those pills must be really kicking in. Also, he must have a wild imagination to be looking at something like that for so long. Like client: ring, ring. Him: hello? Client: yeah, I was just wonderi- him: click. Yeah wever bish. 😍 Purdy sky.... 🤗
