Extremely late reply, but I wouldn't say anything about autotune or pop music, he was just clearly flat on some parts, which can be attributed to his being sick. I've seen them live, and I've seen live videos, they're normally much better singers through and through. However I will give them that this was earlier in their career, so they weren't quite as practiced yet. Still quite good though.

@cloudeye7 im not trying to put any 1 down number one it takes a lot of hard work and diligence to put something together but it shows when youve got studio techs backed by big record labels making your music sound 10 times better than it actually does. FYI sound quality on the front row sucks . #2 I am a classically trained bass player and a tenor singer(unfortunately i sound like eddie vetter :P)

@cloudeye7 its not that he sounds different hes off key and singing a different melody from the bassist. so either the bassist or pete need to get their shit together. I saw chevelle live in 08 and 10 and was severely dissapointed both times. no stage presence and the vocal qaulity was bad. (still love them on album, but i wouldn't waste $ or time to see them live)

They also just got a new bassist/backing vocalist, and normally in studio Pete does both lead and backing vocals, but since dean has a different vocal register, it sounds like cats on a chalk board (that's at least one of a few reasons of why his voice may not be as good here as it could be).
