Chevy C50 cab is on it new frame - Project Bad Decision

I'm in the dreaming / planning stage of doing one up also. Any of you guys know which P30 frames have rear discs?

@@xmo552 Any 19.5 Wheeled P30 has Disc Brakes that I have seen, and I've had 3 different RV. This is THE chassis to use, as you get big truck wheels and big brakes!

@@xmo552 usually around 14,800lb (15,000), 5K 5lug front (independent suspension) and 10K rear 10 lug 5 hole rims, usually ALL have 454 Big Block

I lifted a 57 dodge C.O.E. cab exactly like this... I crunched the door tops . Finish yours

That’s why I spread the boards out. I’ve crushed the drip rails before by just running the strap around the cab.

I couldn’t get brake parts for the original axles. Swapping axles and front suspension would have been a lot more work on that big straight frame.

@@longsspeed granted, wheel assemblies can be a problem (the split rims are a tougher nut to crack than brakes IMHO), but that "big straight frame" is the whole reason for owning one. I suppose I'm more of a "form follows function" sort of guy. I'm not sure how it works in Canada, in Texas, I'd put a C10 on that C40 frame just to make it cheaper to register because the VIN follows the cab and not what it's sitting on. You certainly do good work (particularly doing it all yourself). I do enjoy watching the process.

What chassis did you put it on?

The frame is 1970 Chevy C30. Rear axle is 96 Chevy Dually. Front suspension will be 86 Chevy C30.

I put my 1965 c60 on a 1993 international 4700 frame the frame is the same width
