Chevy Equinox/GMC Terrain 2.4L MAP Sensor Cleaning

Increase your fuel economy and restore power and acceleration by cleaning your Manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor. Vehicle used 9.9 Liters per 100km before service. Now it only uses 9.2 liters per 100km. This cleaning will help fix the P0106 Engine code.

Thank you for the video. what symptom were you having to clean that sensor? My RPM are going down and up at the idle any suggestion?

I didn’t have any symptoms. This was preventative maintenance for me. However a dirty map sensor could cause your erratic rpm. It can also cause stalling, hesitation, poor fuel economy. If this cleaning doesn’t help then try cleaning the throttle body as well. I also have a video for that in my equinox playlist if you need guidance. Thanks for watching. Hope this helps. Can you still have a bad or dirty sensor with no engine light on? Also what are the issues you might see or feel if the MAP sensor is bad? Thanks for sharing and I hope someone can answer my question at some point. I am a few years late on watching this video.

Should the cleaning process always be done or when there are problems in the car?

Every maintenance procedure such as these cleanings and other preventative procedures should always be done before there is an issue. People need to stop waiting until an issue occurs to decide to finally do something about the vehicle. My question to you is why wait until there is an issue?

I have the same vehicle as you. I seem to have a big clunk when going into reverse and sometimes when driving there's a rough clunk. What do you think might be the issue. Cheers

I’m not sure but that sounds like a transmission problem. I’m not super familiar with transmissions. But it’s Not something I would wait on. You should take it in immediately. I hope you can still find my other videos helpful. And please like and subscribe

This sensor is not related to whether your engine will crank or not. I’m guessing 3 possible issues you could have. First is a possible dead battery. Second is a bad alternator which in turn won’t charge the battery. Third is a possible broken starter. Hope this helps you. Thanks for watching and commenting. Please like and subscribe

Crc MAF Sensor cleaner is plastic and o ring safe. As stated by the manufacturer. Will not harm o rings or plastic housing. Check the crc web page
