8-lug wheels means much larger wheel bearings to carry more weight. I have a 2008 Chevy Express 2500, with a 155 inch wheelbase, and it has 8-lug wheels. It has the Vortec 6.0 liter engine. Lots of power, nearly 400 hp and torque, and very smooth.

it's for good cause man. dumb people doing stupid shit like slapping huge rims on heavy trucks without any clue or care about whether or not the tires have the load capacity to safely hold the weight of the vehicle itself let alone when loaded up or towing.
