These are the steps I took to replace the knock sensors on my truck, keep in mind this repair is relatively easy. You should consider buying the small harness that connects the sensors to the harness.

I was thinking the same thing. And not to mention he didn’t explain how to put everything back together because it’s exactly the reverse of taking it off, so for those who needed that help could’ve watched the longer 22-30 min videos of this procedure 😂 🎯

I just replaced that oil pressure sender, likely thats what caused the knock sensor code. moving 100k cables can screw up the wiring.

I did all this to my 2001 Silverado but the same 0332 and 0327 codes keep coming on , and yes I installed ac delco parts , and I have checked the sensor they do work and I have ohmed every wireharness all the way to the pcm , everything checks out good , why do I keep getting this code could it be a o2 sensor out

I once had a similar issue and when I went back in under the intake i noticed that were the knock sensor was bolted into had a small crack, at that point I had to replace the entire engine because of a bad block. Not saying thats your problem but you could double check that.

I changed both knocks and harness but it still idles low when I come to a stop, Sometimes it will shut down. it starts right back up. What else can I do??

never seen that bad knock sensor do that before ... dont think they were bad to begin with ... I would check for a intake/vacuum leak and check how dirty the throttle body is

@@FalconsGarage Thanks, I changed knock sensors bc check engine light came on. when they ran test. knock sensors bad, but now everthing is good , except when you stop occasionally it will fall below 500rpm & then shut off.

that makes more sense now .... yes check for intake leaks and how dirty your throttle body is ... I would start there

is there a gasket under that valley pan that can leak? im doing all this to fix leaks and want to replace it if so.

Don Ammon yes there is. You can get it at the dealer or a parts department.

Any precautions taking it off? I cant find any videos on it. Is it just remove the sensors and vally pan bolts, pry off, replace gasket and i think knock sensor o rings, and replace? Thx for quick response bud

Don Ammon nothing to special about it. Just take off the sensors remove the bolts like you said. Make sure when you buy the gasket you get the gaskets for the wells they are very similar to the spark plug well gaskets from a calavera cover. Clean out the area and replace. Also try to to get trash or gamer particles inside the engine.

After taking those coolant lines off do you need to bleed or just refil the coolant?

Which is bank 1 and 2?

Bank 1 is on the front ... Bank 2 is on ht back closer to the fire wall.

My code p0332 is a evap and the knock sensor came up as P0446 you said your code was p0332?

Nope. P0332 is a knock sensor code for chevy.

Cool video, I changed both of my knock sensors and hardness I have a 2002 silverado 5.3l, and almost to 1000 miles later i got the same code for the knock sensors. Even thought the knock sensors and hardness are new. What should I do next? Can you help me out on that? Please and thanks👍🏻

Andres Donato did you torque them to the correct specs? Not sure what it is out of the top of my head but it’s very important with this sensors. Also did you use dealer parts?

Yes they were torque down to the right specs, and parts were from the dealership

if it takes a year for the code to come back .. its a little harder to pin point the issue .. because it could still be the sensors .. or maybe also a wiring issue

@@alejandrotapia5762 Hello, yes it's going to sound wierd but I was driving to the shop to have it checked, and check engine light went away. Ever since that day(knock on wood) it's been running fine. No more check engine light

Re the first sensor ... mine sets off the engine symbol... but then a few days later the red image light is no longer lit. I am sometimes in Naples FL and sometimes in Mich. Any advice?

Changed those sensors on my 01 yukon 4.8, drove it a week and the code came back. Definitely not pulling that intake again. Looking for a work around currently. This has to be a known headache for these LS engines/owners.

@Falcon’s garage I have a Chevy Silverado 2005 and have the same problem they put the scanner and it says the code P0327 and the mechanic charges me $ 875 for changing the two sensors what do you think about this?

Falcon's Garage im getting p0327 on my 2004 tahoe 5.3 167k miles but need help I really confused where to start with local mechanics want $600+ for the fix and not sure if i just ignores it will do any damage to my truck, help plz

600 to replace the knock sensors sound a bit excessive ..... if al the issue is bad sensors it will effect the fuel economy of the car maybe not much for you to notice but it will .... I CANNOT recommend that you just ignore it .... but maybe try other mechanics for quotes

I would have to check my work computer to know exactly but if I had to guess about 1.5 hrs total ... normally on this job "I" would charge about $100-150 in labor plus parts ..
