You have a great way of communicating with people watching. Congrats on the channel. I also appreciate that your mods are done with a factory look in mind, and most are easily reversable. It will pay off with resale or trade in value.

Hello Don, I love that steering wheel. I found having your helper use their arms and knees to steady the wheel sometimes helps but your truck did not give you as good of a fight and the C8. As always thanks for the video.

This is awesome! Great video and install. Love your detailed insight and thoughts. My GMC Sierra AT4 wheel has some delamination...and will def look into replacing it with this one. I do love the full 360-deg radius heated steering wheel on the stock wheel. My new Mazda also only heats at 10 and 2. To me, kinda bothers me. However, in Oklahoma, I only use the heated steering wheel for maybe 3-4 months. So, for around $525 USD...worth the swap out. Esp, with the bottom of the wheel being flat. That is HUGE for overweight or large people. Mrs Don's Life needs to be in more videos. 🙂

Nice video Don. I do have to say that the GM vehicle’s steering wheels always lack the girth and comfort of Ford’s, BMW, and Toyota. This looks like an uodate I’d like to do. TY!

Great looking wheel, but I feel they missed on not heating the carbon areas. I hold the wheel one hand at 12 o'clock or on long drives one hand at 6. Rarely do I hold at the sides. Factory wheel doesn't seem to heat the bottom but definitely heats the top.
@Donslife5 күн бұрын
Perhaps. After using it for about a week, there is some heat transfer to the carbon areas, but just enough to get it to appropriate room temperature. I’ve found a couple sweet spots for my preferred hand positions.
@heybucko39563 күн бұрын
crazy how your steering wheel still looks new mean while mine has ate thru to the padding and flakes everytime i drive
@Donslife3 күн бұрын
Maybe its due to where you live? Sun damage? Heat? 🤷🏻♂️

Factory steering wheels life will depend on the owner’s lifestyle. Tradesman’s wheels normally last less due to oils and contaminants in the driver’s skin.

Great video Don! Is the wheel real carbon fiber or just hydro dipped plastic?

Oh man that looks good. Definitely changes the look and feel on these trucks it looks like. Question don, does your at4 have stock power folding mirrors? I was curious to see if boost auto could send you the new Sport power folding/spot light mirrors they just released. I ordered mine cause my 19 TB didn't have any functions and I like your installation vids. Just a thought.😅

Why did you use a Torque wrench, check the calibration before next use
@DonslifeКүн бұрын
It’s an old broken torque wrench. I used it for leverage. In my corvette I used a ratchet with a small pipe for leverage. You just need to loosen the bolt. Then retighten well. Locktite is an option as well. Knowing I am replacing mine with the GMC version, I didn’t apply anything extra.

Cool concept, but they missed the mark not having it heated all the way around. Probably not a huge deal being in Florida, but at over $500, I would expect 360 degrees of heat.
