Chevy Spark 2014 Blower Motor repair. Possible bad ground wire.

Bad ground wire rough test... I'm no pro and this is recorded on the fly so it's pretty rough quality but I wanted to get the info out there for anybody who's having the same problem. Do this at your own risk of getting shocked or burning some components but it worked for me as a quick test. I tried replacing the blower motor resistor multiple times and the blower motor itself and it's still worked intermittently and then stopped working all together.

Not sure if you still have this car, but for those who see this in the future I may have found the fix. I had the same exact issue, where the circuit was not grounding out and activating the blower. Tested the harness, the blower module(switch), resistor and motor. Found the wiring was fine and the connector on the resistor had loose pins. I spliced in a new blower motor resistor and that fixed the issue. When testing at the blower resistor pins I would get continuity with a multimeter probe, but the pin wasn't making connection to the resistor causing the circuit to not be complete.

Bro, are you talking about that little 2 wire connector, that for some reason they put under the passenger carpet??? Because, thanks to @ZackBeck, I did the same test to make sure the blower was good. It was. Then, by accident, I had my hand on the floor right towards the top edge of the carpet and my hand must have reconnected it, because the fan came on. So, I fiddled with that tiny little 2 wire connector and it has been working ever since, TODAY LOL. But I know for sure that 2 wire connector was my issue. Same one? Because it is hot as the sun here in Cali, so I want to just make new damn connector. And, thanks for the video and all the responses!

Cars are 10 years old. Chevy expects them to be in the junkyard by now. I have a Spark with an automatic transmission. On my third transmission at 160k total miles.

I seriously believe I know the issue, also stated above. On mine, 2013 lt, there are 2 little wires tucked just above passenger carpet edge. Those are the problem. That connector is faulty.

To all: It's the little 2 wire connector just above the passenger carpet top edge. That 2 wire connector is bad. It is intermittent, and will go out when you need it most LOL. I am changing that little connector and I will up0date you all. But, I am positive it is those 2 wires because I noticed the fan started blowing normal when I accidentally leaned my hand, on that connector! It has been fine for at least 2 years, until today! So, now after reading all of this, I am going to replace the connector. To test: 1. Turn the car on. 2. Turn the a/c or heater on. 3. Pull the top of the passenger side carpet down from the top, under the dash. 4. Jiggle that connector, with the system on and let me know if it works for you guys??? Hope that helps. - 06/05/2024

I ended up grounding to a metal bracket under and that fixed the all on or all off.... That drove me a little crazy with the full speed fan speed. So, I ran a wire and added a control speed modulator from Amazon. Any luck with isolating the bad ground? Having the same issue. Ran a temporary ground wire with a on/off switch for now. Works on full or off only. Already replaced the fan speed module, no joy.

I ran new power. I grounded to the frame and then tapped into power from the cigarette outlet. I later added a regulator switch... Let me find it and share Amazon link. Only catch is that the factory knob has to be on for the switch I installed to work.

Try @Bubba Chambers fix maybe... Mine is rigged but if you can correctly fix it, then go for it (and let others know if it works!). The issue was a bad ground but the fix was only what I came up with here. See some comments over the years and some other suggest fixes.
