Good job dude, looked like a fun job, ha ha. I've been fixing my own vehicles for year's. I'm not going to pay a mechanic $100. plus an hour to fix something I can do myself. The money you save, can buy a lot of tools. I know most of the time the jobs turn out to be a pain in the ass, but it gives you a good feeling of accomplishment and you save a bundle! It's a win-win!

THANK YOU. It was the Fuel Tank sensor. I couldn’t get rid of the PO446. Tried everything, purge valve, gas cap, charcoal canister, solenoid and 2 days later check engine code again every time. I was going to light up my 2004 Avalanche on fire but 2 days after replacing the fuel tank sensor all monitors came back green. Passed smoke check with flying colors. I did go the (making a hole under the rear seat) road to replace it since dropping the tank was too complicated for me. Maybe a coincidence maybe not, but with the new fuel tank sensor, I now get a message on the dash “low fuel” warning. With the old bad sensor, all I got was the light on when fuel was very low. Maybe that was an indication the sensor went bad in the first place. 🤷🏻♂️

My 09 silverado 5.3 is throwing a p0446 but everything else on the internet says that's EVAP. She has been stalling on me lately. Any help would be appreciated

The physical shape that I am in I have to take it to our dealer but he is really fair on labor. I know it is a different story close to the cities for us. Good job! Yep feeling around without seeing what you are doing is fun. But your camera is doing a good job telling you what you did.

I’m wondering if you had an issue filling up gas. My suburban is giving me a hard time filling up gas the pump stops within seconds all the time and guess what I don’t have any codes I have no check engine light.
@SevenFortyOne4 ай бұрын
I didn't have that problem. I've hears it can be caused by a plugged EVAP system vent valve. I have a video on how to change that here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j6uTlXiYfK12fs0

The charcoal canisters are known to fail and clog the evap lines with charcoal pellets. This happened with our 2015 Suburban. I had to blow every line out with compressed air. It’s still not perfect, so I need to check the solenoid.

How did you know it was the fuel tank pressure sensor and not the vapor canister purge valve or gas cap evap?
@SevenFortyOne Жыл бұрын
I checked the gas cap first and it was fine. I then changed the canister and still got the code. If you have access to a smoke machine you can check the canister without removing or replacing it.

I shot the parts gun at my 05 silverado and still got p0446. Evap purge evap solenoid charcoal canister I hope this fuel pressure sensor works 😭

I am in the same boat as you. 2001 Silverado. I replaced the canister, purge valve and hoping it's the fuel pressure sensor and not the fuel pump
@Dragonhailflower2 ай бұрын
@@freedomtour7974It worked. All systems monitors complete. Just a tip you don't have to drop the tank. I came from the rear passenger and pulled it out by hand but like he said you're kind of blind. I used my phone camera to see what I was getting into. 2005 silverado

Hi, fuel pump still ok ? I too replaced everything you did but not the pressure sensor yet. (2004 Avalanche ). My CAT and O2S monitors not getting ready. No engine codes for it, only the P0046 for the EVAP.
