In the movie yes, it is tomato soup, but the musical is very different from either of the movies, having elements of both. Such as violet bringing her mom which is from the remake, and mike bring his mom, which is more in line with the original

when i directed the show, i told the actress to start trying to spit the gum out once all the other kids start singing about how she’s turning blue, but then to act like her jaws are in some sort of rhythm that she can’t stop. i was worried how it would look to the audience, but i think it ended it up working. several people mentioned how the song went from funny to creepy, which is what i was going for

I’m trying to do the accent (cuz I’m pretty sure it was the only reason I was cast as Violet). The screaming is so much harder than the accent tho. I sound like a squealing pig. And even if it’s 8 years later I hope you did well!
