I used to chew Browns Mule in the 1070's, and yes they were always very moist. You always had to pack it in a bag, because the only way to remove the plug, was to tear the package off.

Man I love some plug...I used to buy red man plug all the time and days work when I was a young man in Kentucky.

Robert Sparkman My grandpa, an Appalachian, chewed Red Man for years. He mixed it with Levi Garrett later in life. I can remember him sending me to the grocery store occasionally. He would let me have the change, or give me some extra money. That was when stores sold tobacco to minors. I got a solid brick of a chewing tobacco...I think it was Brown Mule. Anyways I bit off a piece in the alley beside the store. It wasn't long before I swallowed some of the spit and got nauseous, dizzy, and vomited.

Never had this one. I notice most plugs are more bitter than loose leaf and have their own sort of flavor to them. I’ve had some from stores that were as hard as a brick lol

You & Bergs find a plethora of good stuff!!! The only plug I can find here is Days O Work….it costs more than a standard bag of chew. Plug is expensive & rare here. Btw. Northerner….eh. Lol.

Do you know where they still offer this? I’ve heard eastern Kentucky. I’m not far but I can’t find anyone at all that still sells this.

When I was a kid in high school, 1970's, worked outside and chewed a plug of this a day. Loved it. After about two years, the flavor got a bit old and seemingly more bitter, but likely my taste changed. Still enjoy it occasionally. It used to be an RJ Reynolds product, and Pinkerton bought it around 1985, so Pinkerton did not ruin it. I do wonder when it became 82% foreign leaf, although that likely had no effect on flavor. By the way, would also highly recommend Bloodhound, which was my go to after that. It is made by American Snuff Co, (previously Conwwood), based in Memphis, and tends to be available in the deep South. Hence, living in Texas, I had to by it by the box. Hope you do a review on Bloodhound, too. This was an excellent review.

So, they only had Cannon Ball & Days Work at the store. I instead picked up some WB extra long cut chewing tobacco, oddly. Had to give it a review....it is a strange one!

Did I hear you say you have a "work switchblade"? As in a switchblade that you use at work?

Please share where to get this online if still available. A rare find now & would love to try. Did you just say "Rusty Shackleford" at the end? That's a King of the Hill reference, funny! Seriously though, would love to get some Mule Plug. Thanks for the video, great review!

Brown's Mule is made up of off-fall, stems and trimmings of cigar tobacco. Basically, all the things that get tossed when rolling handmade cigars. Just saying.
@SuitandTieDipandChewGuy5 жыл бұрын
Do you know where they are getting it from? The trimmings?
@margovallen5 жыл бұрын
@@SuitandTieDipandChewGuy No, i do not. But.... 18% domestic vs 82% foreign. Not sure but, it may be a nice chew every one and awhile.
@goofy21263 жыл бұрын
I would think that the foreign leaves are from the Caribbean/Latin America. If they are cigar trimmings, it should be good quality leaf.

I remember not liking the sweetness of Redman loose. Would like to try some kind of plug though. Can you suggest to me one that is rather good and doesn't come off like raisins or super sweet? I've seen Days Work before, so I know that brand is available here. Thanks for the review! *edit* ...and I honestly thought that was Days Work when you held it up...sort of confused. They aren't made by the same company?

In the past electronic and first person surveillance in the private sector. Now, outdoor property maintenance for local elderly. Long story.
