My Fiancee is a bowler and a couple of years and a few years ago sho won the club championship, but her opponent in the final was unhappy about another member who was watching with her dog distracted her. To this day it's known as 'duggate'

My grandfather Robert Beattie played for the Scottish National team a LONG time ago. He would have loved this.

Google him. Go for it. He was a member of the Portland bowling club. They gave him a writing desk for his wedding, a banjo thermometer as well as a set of commemorative lawn bowls which we donated back to the club.

When I was a kid in Glasgow during the 70s I remember walking past a bowling club and 2 old timers were punching the hell out of each other. And the amazing thing was everybody just stood and watched.

Ordinarily, if he's hammerin or sawin, he'll use the right haun, but av seen him wae pliers in his left haun then switchin to his right when that haun gets sore. But gie him a pen and away he'll go, wae the right haun. If he's doin a crossword, it's his left. All capitals.
