Okay this video is totally worth watching just for the brownie selfie action!!! His name is pronounced Ragu-see-ah. I watch him often and have for a couple of years. I like the sciency stuff (it’s why I watch him) but I think he spent three whole videos just on brownie skin. Wha? Claire Saffitz has a browned butter brownie I think she calls forever brownies. They have malt in them, which sounds intriguing to me. I haven’t tried making them yet. The process name you were looking for is “the Maillard reaction.” It’s behind butter browning, steaks searing, cookies, etc. It puts the yum in many foods and that aroma from childhood Sunday dinners and such. Sigh. Rick from Bon Appetit has a brown butter and toffee chocolate chip cookie that has received wide acclaim, but again I haven’t tried it yet. Will people throw shoes if I admit I’m not that into chocolate chip cookies? I do love me a chewy, fudgey brownie though. Thank you for trying out and reviewing this recipe! I value your opinion and will put this one ahead of the Claire Saffitz one to try out. Do you know how to make egg pie? It looks like a type of custard pie to me. I’m intrigued and looking for a good recipe to try when I’m able. I’m in a phase where I’m chasing down things that remind me of my grandmother’s cooking, which was southern-ish. Sadly no measurements or written recipes to go from. She just threw things in until it was “right.”

I got my churro recipe from Rick! 🤗 And thanks for the terminology…I hadn’t a clue. Btw…I can take or leave chocolate chip cookies..💁🏾‍♀️ I love all things custard! It’s a personal favorite..It was one of the things I always asked my gramaw to make 🥰❤️😋
