My family was great friends with her father. She used to come over, and my sister, cousin, Her, and I, would get baby sat by my aunt. She was very strange. She was 8 years older than me, and I was about 7. She would try to kiss me. I started avoiding her when she came over. In my teenage years, her and the father hit hard times, so they moved a camper onto our property. She disrespected my grandparents, so they got kicked her out. The father was a hard-working man who worked his butt off to raise that monster, and all he got in return was the death of his precious grand baby and himself. I think about him sometimes, and I feel bad for him and the child.

My son has Fragile X Syndrome. Because of this, he has been diagnosed with ADHD and ODD. Days can be really hard. It's physically and emotionally exhausting. As special needs parents it's our duty to help our kids learn to navigate and live in a world that's not always going to be understanding of their needs or kind. There have been times where I had to leave the room, count to ten and take deep breaths to reign in my frustrations but I have never nor would I ever harm my son. She failed her as a mother, she failed her as a special needs caregiver, and she failed her in every possible way you can fail a child. Given her own issues she should have never had a kid to begin with, and there is no fucking excuse for what she did. The title Monster doesn't seem enough for this absolute waste of space.
@legoqueen2445 Жыл бұрын
Oppositional Defiance Disorder is tricky. Given Meredith behaved for her grandfather, I'm inclined to think the mother didn't have effective parenting skills and this led to Meredith being angry, defiant and agressive with her mum. I haven't watched the whole video yet but if the mother couldn't cope with Meredith, she should have given the child to the grandfather or foster care. I can't understand why she'd kill her own little girl. RIP Meredith.

My friend also has a child with adhs and odd. He can be so charming around ppl and so different when at home. Its scary honestly. I fear he may have other issues like psychopathy but bc he's only 12 they can't diagnose. (Not suggesting odd is the same as pychopathy but in his case I fear he may have both) my friend has had an awful time trying to get help fir her son and herself. I agree though, in this case she completely failed her child and no reason could justify her actions. She was selfish and only wanted what was best fir her. Pure monster.

@@cdes1776 I do! He's in early intervention and is getting literally every service that's been offered. We've made so much progress as a team and him individually. We still have meltdowns and hard days, but he's my son and I'll do whatever's needed to ensure he gets a fair chance at life.
@raechelgrantham8134 Жыл бұрын
@@pickledragonrebel It can be really hard. Before my son was diagnosed I had a hard time accepting that something was wrong with my son. I had all but convinced myself that I was the problem because there would be times where he was sweet, smart and happy. I was afraid people would see him on a good day and say "there's nothing wrong here. You're the issue". Thankfully that wasn't the case, but I did have a really hard time with his school and getting his needs met there. He did fine in school for a few months and the teachers weren't taking me seriously until he got frustrated in class and started throwing chairs and hurting himself. All of that, and I never once considered or thought of harming him. I'm sure your friend would never hurt her son either. No amount of frustration can justify what happened to Meredith. You seem like a great friend and she's lucky to have you to lean on.

As a mother of a special needs child, you are 100% correct. One of the first things a child learns is that parents/guardians are supposed to love and care for them. When that isn't the case, it's so hurtful. There are times when I have to step back, take deep breaths and reengage with my son. Screaming isn't going to teach a kid anything. Every child deserves a parent, but not every parent deserves a child.
@janeeyre1990 Жыл бұрын
@@raechelgrantham8134 , I am a disabled adult, and my disabled father probably hated me because I reminded him of himself. Or because my father is just autistic, and I am autistic and ADHD (AuDHD) like my mom. I could feel the love from my mom and the resentment from my dad, so I clung to her and rejected him. I am one of the lucky ones to have a mom who loved her. Neither of her disabled parents loved her or treated her well. Developmental disabilities and abuse can both be passed down from generation to generation. I am happy that I got autism, ADHD, and love from my mom. I don't always connect or communicate great with other humans. I am selectively mute, for example, and can't make eye contact with or talk to strangers in my neighborhood. But I don't hurt anyone. And I have a special connection with animals. Especially my rescue dog. Even after my mom is gone, I can carry on her spirit by giving animals the kind of unconditional love she has always given me.

This is why parenthood has to be taken seriously and never entered into by force! People get so wrapped up in the expectation or sentimentality to have kids, they don't think about what it really takes--and if they LIKE actually DOING it! Having kids and _raising them_ are two very separate things! Raising them right is an intense, 24/7 endeavor (and let's face it--often monotonous work--how many times can you play stacking cups, read _Good night, Moon_, or go over chores again?!). Even when you're not actively with the kid(s), you have to be thinking about their needs, planning around them, interrupting the flow or your own desired plans to accommodate something for them. And in a world where likely the caretaker(s) will have to work outside the home, what little time that is left over will go to them and making a good home for them. Unfortunately, too often, people realize too late, they really don't enjoy losing what little time they have left in the day to that. So kids grow up being more or less lawn ornaments (or worse), sitting there more for show than in interest to actually actually interact with. They're raised more by their TV, iPad, or social media. And resentment on both sides often grow.

When i broke my leg i couldn't work and was gonna lose my apartment so she took my dog to the shelter and then the next day brought me $500 so i could pay rent and not move in with her. Then she moved my brother into my apartment and he got me evicted ten days later. They both suck to be honest

@@ellohooman3244 welp I randomly started having pretty bad seizures and got diagnosed with epilepsy at 38. Can't drive my truck anymore so I'm unemployed and had to move back in with the lovely women and her husband. I figure I'll try to take full advantage, get some payback but i miss working and driving. I cant even find a dishwasher job in my town but i haven't given up and it finally stopped raining so i can ride a bicycle now

Her statement that she just didn't understand her daughter because "I didn't know how to deal with her. I've really never had a kid" was more than a little strange. By this time her daughter was SIX years old! You would think that in six years she would no longer say, "I've never really had a kid." I can't see me driving a Toyota car for six years and then take it to a mechanic and say, "I don't know what's happening to it because I've really never had a Toyota before." I think maybe the mechanic would look at me a bit strangely and he would be thinking, "Um, lady. You've had THIS Toyota for SIX YEARS!" Obviously though, this woman is not the sharpest knife in the drawer because after dispatching Meredith and Mark, she put their bodies in containers and put them in the shed because "if I report them missing, the cops will NEVER think to look for them in the shed!" The cops would also never lift a sheet off of the sofa and see that it is covered in red stuff. Like I said, this girl is not the sharpest knife in the drawer!

This one hurts me especially bad, because I have a son with Oppositional Defiance Disorder. Not only could I NEVER imagine hurting him, but I would never say there's "something wrong with him." Yes, he has unique struggles, but he's a perfectly normal, wonderful boy, something I'm always sure to tell him. This monster can't even be considered a "mother," may she rot.

I've Watched Cheyannes interrogation loadsa times, this was a refreshed version of the capspe with some extra info in this, thanks this wasp insightful & nicely put together. Poor Meredith and Mark, unbelievable she couldn't care less about the person who gave her life apnd the little person she gave & took away her life, this is another heartbreaking case of a parent that should of never been or was a parent to that little girl, her dad wasp right, 6 yrs old & all those medications, at least try'n be a good mother for ap long while before resorting to drugging the kid, horrific.

After everything she did to be with this guy, the second she sees potential consequences coming her way, she literally accuses him of the most heinous act she can imagine to protect herself. Scum.

I’ve lived in Chattanooga for all 25 years of my life and never heard of this case. Sheesh. At some point, maybe revisit Chattanooga and dive into the homicide of Deshawn Little. Murdered by two white 20 year olds because he didn’t have the weed they wanted after they gave him the money. He met them in his own mother’s driveway, with their money in hand. And they still murdered him in cold blood. He was my friend. And I miss him dearly. Edit: spelling

Sorry for the loss of your friend. It's hard to lose someone we love when they truly had their whole life ahead of them And it was over something so senseless and it was heartless. I lost my best friend years ago when we were 28. I still go over memories and sometimes I hear him say he is glad I have joy in my life bc he always liked making ppl laugh. It's been 38 years and I still have good dreams about him. We laugh while I'm dreaming. My girls were nuts about him and still have memories even tho they were only 8, 5 and 4 when he passed. Hope u can find comfort in your memories bc that is what Deshawn would want for you. I live two hrs from Chattanooga and it is a nightmare driving thru there in fog. My oldest bro lives in Murphy, NC near the Ocoee River. It is so peaceful in the mountains over there. Take care of you.

If it was drug-related and not race-related, why do you make a point to mention they were white? Your friend must have been black? It's getting old hearing the race card pulled every time a black person has a crime committed against them. Folks love to twist things around to make it seem racially-motivated. And it would be super awesome if you did the research before you comment.
