We find ourselves back at Torrey Pines Gliderport in La Jolla, Ca. Here Cheyanne is attempting her first paragliding flight Ever! Will she fly!? As a paragliding student at Torrey Pines Gliderport, she's been working really hard at kiting her paraglider and practicing launching and landing. Will the baby bird fly the nest?!? This is the biggest moment of any pilots life! Let's find out if Cheyanne has the skills and knowledge to take her first Solo paragliding flight ever!!

I did not fly Torrey Pines for my first flight, but have flown there since. There is such magic in "the first flight". In an instant, you become one of a very small number of folks who enter the 3d dimension. It is something that most people will never understand. I have flown Torrey Pines and have flown with you, Topher. In each case, it was a privilege. This is a great video because it gives such a good sense of what our sport can be, but really, do it if you want to know.

It all depends on the conditions and the pilots abilities. If everything lines up well, you can have your first flight in a few days!

LunoSol Design you don’t really need to fly any tandems, though it can be helpful - its more a matter of learning to control the glider yourself while you’re on the ground, and learning some basic safety measures and flight planning skills. It can take as little as a few days if the glider control aspects come naturally.
