It isn't a Carnival without Chiacchiere! Chiacchiere in Italy means chatter, chit chat, or gossip, but in this case, it refers to a sweet pastry. Fried dough, crunchy, crumbly, and coated with confectioners' sugar! This is traditionally made all over Italy during the Carnevale. Chiacchiere are named differently depending on the region in Italy where they are made, such as frappe, crostoli, bugie, or cioffe, to name a few. No matter what they are called, they are the same pastry. They are extremely delicious, stay fresh for days, and are crunchy. I hope you try this recipe out! Buon Appetito!
