🍳 Looking for one of the best breakfast in Chiang Mai, Thailand? We think one of the best Chiang Mai breakfast restaurants is Chiang Mai Breakfast World. It's a great patio cafe offering seating under trees or cover. Located in the SW corner of the old town, on a quiet soi (street), this restaurant offers not just some of the best food in Chiang Mai, but offers a relaxing environment, shaded by a beautiful, huge tree, with an entertaining array of decorations scattered around the patio and covered seating areas. The owners have a sense of humor, as seen by the entry which features discounts for those who can fit through the "skinny bars". Can you fit through the 5% discount bars? The smaller ones for 10%? How about 20%?!!!
There are two menus: one for drinks (coffees and smoothies of every type) and food. The food menu has a dizzying number of choices, from countless omelets, including Joy's favorite with shrimp, pancakes, and various sausages - as well as sandwiches if you don't feel like a lunchtime all-day breakfast. We greatly enjoyed our breakfast here, and also thought the smoothies were amazing.

A good and very popular restaurant, very nicely lit in the evening. Owned by a Thai/Westerner, (Dash), completely fluent in both English and Thai, and he often greets all the people at the entrance himself.

You don't like the place we showed in the video? If you don't mind paying a lot, the Kantary Hills hotel has a nice big buffet and omelet bar. It is in Nimman. But I usually don't go out of breakfast, sorry. Most Thails eat the same things for breakfast as lunch and dinner. Maybe a viewer will add some suggestions.

Going to chiang mai in a few weeks on vacation. Any ideas on where to stay?

Hi Billy. It depends on the price range of course and the part of town you like. I can recommend the Away Chiang Mai Tha Pae Resort. It is a block from the Tha Pae gate on a quiet soi, breakfast in included (although it's vegan but still quite good if you can get over no eggs). A nice quiet pool, great staff and very nice rooms with big terraces. I think the daily rate is about $80, so on the high side for CM, but if you stay for more than 30 days with Trip.com it will be reduced 50% normally. I hope this helps.

while i agree the food looked great, that is an expensive breakfast for chiang mai.....even though i lived in BK for many years, i never one went out for breakfast...just had my coffee and that was it...but it looks like all of thailand has become expensive and it is no longer the cheap place of 20 years ago...
