The traffic and congestion in the old city is soo bad right now that I just stay away from the city center if I can... You can tell it's high season because of all the tourists are walking down the middle of the streets in town... Not to mention they still have the roads dug up for repairs since high season LAST YEAR...

I will be there in two weeks the anticipation is killing me. My favourite city in the whole world . My wife and i will be checking out condos in the night bazaar area , Chang Khlan, or Haiya areas .

Another cool vlog, dig it✌♥️ Yeah, Mandala House is great, I stayed there in April, highly recommended. One of best things besides the location is that they rent scooters at a good price. I try to find hotels that offer scooter rental, makes things easy. Take care, brother😎

Was there last week. I've never seen CM so busy. Walked from the Lotus hotel to nimmanhaemin Road. It was quicker than using public transport.

Nice vid. There's also The City View Condominium, old but you get can get some really decent bargains there. 5 min walk to the night market and Loi Kroh, I loved living there. Quick walk across the iron bridge to Rimping supermarket. I paid 6k pm for a studio with nice wooden floors and a little kitchen on the balcony. Highly recommended. To rent, not sure about buying, as they have some issues with having broken the 51/49 Thai / Farang ownership rules allegedly. Down a nice little quiet street, with lots of little restaurants nearby. I'd go there again in a heartbeat. It's also huge, and top floors are very quiet.

I was listening to another vlogger in Thailand and he basically dismantled Chiang Mai city as not the place to be. He said he has been to Chiang Mai 10 times since the mid 2000's and has seen it change and go downhill. These are the points he made about Chiang Mai city: -There is nothing in Chiang Mai city -Used to be better 15 years ago -The city has gotten too popular for its own good -There is hardly any nightlife -Not as fun as Pattaya -Not as vibrant as Bangkok -Has the worst of everything -He would rather be in Isaan than Chiang Mai 10 times out of 10 -Isaan is the new Chiang Mai -Chiang Mai used to be cheap, but is expensive now due to all of the tourists -Has a lack of transportation for a big city compared to Bangkok and Pattaya --The center of Chiang Mai city doesn't offer much that you can't find anywhere else in Thailand -No great markets -No good food -No great malls -There is nothing exceptional -About every city in Thailand is better than Chiang Mai -Chiang Mai isn't special anymore The channel who dismantled Chiang Mai is Billy Blue Thailand and he said this at the 57 minute mark on his 2:06:46 livestream called "Billy Blue the Bad Azz Traveler Morning Coffee Chat"
