Actually most of the time ppl thank me for identifying my perspective, and for specifying that it carries both benefits and limitations. I personally wished this was a common practice.

I don't see it like that. Everything happens in relationship, when people use identifiers they are actually stating their relationship to things. Brings discussions into the Web of relationality rather than trying to divorce 'science' or 'academics' from the perspective and position of the observer or inquirer.
