Shunyao is such a sweetie, he made sure, he is not overpowering the other two colleagues. They stayed in tune together. Wonderful. I am just sad, that Cheng Yi does not play his part in Season two. It is not the same chemistry, when a main actor gets exchanged. I will follow Shunyao. He is extraordinary in acting, and singing, and who knows, what else he is god at. There is no season 2, I think you must have seen some unreliable news/video about it but the info about Cheng Yi not returning and someone else replacing him is false because there's no season 2 in the first place 😅 Even if there will be, it is always better follow the official pages to get the more reliable news.

The Mysterious Lotus Casebook reminded me so much of the drama The Blood of Youth, led by Li Hong Yi. Cheng Yi and Li Hong Yi look alike (to me). Cheng Yi is so freaking talented!

The second song A life of fighting is but a dream is the opening theme song from Heavenly sword and dragon Slaying Sabre if I’m not wrong. I remember I like that song when I watched that drama and somehow I’m so glad Cheng Yi sang that. It suits the spirit of Mysterious lotus case and Li Lianhua character very well❤

It's my pleasure. And yes, I agree that the song choices were awesome. I'm a fan of older songs so I was pleasantly surprised that they chose some really good songs from older wuxia dramas. From what I know, the song "A life of fighting is but a dream" is actually from an older version of Heavenly Sword and Dragon Sabre but the 2019 version also used this as their theme song. I haven't seen the older version but this song is super famous and I'm so glad Cheng Yi covered it. It's a very difficult song to sing tbh.
