The original lineup are Nile Rodgers (guitar), Bernard Edwards (RIP) (bass), Tony Thompson (RIP)(drums) Raymond Jones (RIP) (keyboards), Norma Jean Wright (vocals), Alfa Anderson (vocals), Luci Martin (vocals). Bernard Edwards bass lines and Luther Vandross' vocal arrangements are what made the Chic sound. Luther Vandross sang on Chic's first three albums.
