I definitely remember this classic when it was first released, the summer of 1979. At the time, I was 22 years old and in north Texas. This one song was played, continuously at many venues and clubs. in addition, this song was played on various radio stations practically everywhere. Chic touched many people doing that span of times, and afterwards.

Im in the UK and many years ago I used to do a Disco for all the Kids in my area along with our Local Police to keep the young ones entertained..and it went very well,,,,The young Girls had a kind of dance that was like line dancing...the lads would loiter round the sides...lol...never on the floor...my 2 young girls...babies really 4 and 2 would always want to dance with Daddy to this tune...and so it happened...they are both married now and on the day of their weddings they danced with Dad to this tune...yep I was a lot rusty but really pleased they chose the short version....and that my friends is my little story why I love this tune...bless you all..
