This song came out in 1978. Today is November 23, 2022 and I'm just NOW seeing the video for this song for the very first time. WTF?!?! See? THIS is why KZbin is such a treasure to me and why I don't mind paying for their Premium subscription! KZbin has shown me awesome stuff that I SHOULD HAVE seen years ago! Just think... there used to be a time when music artist used to bitch about their music being put on KZbin. I really hope those music artists can truly appreciate how KZbin keeps them relevant. Anyhoooo, I used to love this song when I was a kid. 'Twas nice hearing it again and learning that there's a video for it.

Alfa Anderson, the renowned vocalist of the legendary disco band Chic who helped create timeless hits like “Good Times” and “Le Freak,” has died at age 78. Her passing on December 17, 2024 was announced by Chic founder Nile Rodgers on social media. Born in Augusta, Georgia on September 7, 1946, Anderson began composing songs at age three. While pursuing her education at Paine College and Columbia University, she maintained her musical passion through choir performances. Her professional breakthrough came in 1976 when she debuted as a backup singer for Cannonball Adderley at Carnegie Hall.

Suddenly without warning, like effervescent bursts of shimmering musical light. Listen to how right away this magical song begins with every instrument playing. From something bigger than us, somewhere larger than life. Just hear those swirling violins and that masterful bass playing, those radiant bell chime keyboards and mesmerizing vocals, multi dimensional musical brilliance, wow. This is musical perfection, dazzling and luminescent. Like easily one of my favorite songs ever made. Totally irrisitable and unforgettable. One helluva cruising song, especially to where someone waits for you, acceleration pedal down during chorus.

Disco was one form of music that bought Black, Gay, Hispanic folks out on the dance floor and created a common bond of love for the music. The 70s and Early 80s were everything! That is until the big disease with the little name hit. I love Disco and the late 70s into the 80s was my entry into Adulthood. I’ll give back most of those years along with most of the 90s.
