Fans are gonna have to get used to Poles being quiet in free agency. The roster really is in a spot where he can start building through the draft, extending homegrown players, and not having to overpay in FA. I think we're gonna see more Byard/Allen type moves too where he can add good players with bigger contracts but won't affect the comp pick formula. This is something we haven't seen the Bears do before, and Poles is putting together a damn good résumé in the draft. Look around the league, and this is the only sustainable way to build a competitive roster.

As you say the defense cuts can’t be helped but I think most of those guys are going to be picked up by another team. I wish we could hang on to Rypien but he won’t last a day on practice squad. Also like to see Sweeney make the practice squad.

I really like your roster! I just don't see 6 linebackers and only 4 rbs, I like cutting blasingame and Homer for bates and Baskerville ,but I see poles going with one of the 2 rbs instead. Last year we had issues with injuries at rb

The Bears have definitely improved their roster and it’s deeper now with solid backups than it has been for a quite a while. Ryan Poles and his crew have done a marvelous job at remaking the Bears. I don’t think the final 53 will look much different than you have selected. The preseason was very interesting and successful. GO BEARS!

Moore was making a lot of plays against the Chiefs, he was in on every play if he wasn’t the solo tackler. I thought Blackwell was playing Nickel though and where he got his sack. If we use these Defensive lineman right this year with a few hybrid guys, some big body dudes in the middle, and a stable of super twitchy pass rusher types we could do a lot more damage than they’re getting credit for right now. I can’t wait to see how it all plays out. I agree the Bears have a Superbowl worthy roster here if Williams can put it together early.

Coleman Shelton is the clear and obvious center. Doug Kramer should make it to the practice squad. He has improved every year but isn't quite starter yet. Heaven forbid we have two centers go down.

I think the only thing I disagree with is Jaylon Jones. He's just looked so good, not just this preseason, but the last couple years in general. Blackwell has been good too, but Jones looks like he could have starting upside. I also think the front office likes Dom Rob more than people outside the building, so i could see that being a toss-up

you will more then likely see Taylor over hardy in terms of back up vs depth. book and taylor as the "2's" with hardy getting his chance behind them.

It was more of just ease of adding him to the graphic than anything. I see Taylor being the 3rd down back to start the year with Walker kicking in or Williams on 3rd down until Booker gets up to speed and shows he can be that guy at the regular season level

@Beardownsports yea but it's one of those positions that if it's not a problem you don't try to fix it. His cap hit is minute and age don't affect the position like the others. I don't see them cutting him. Ide take a 50 year old established long snapper over a young guy doing it for the first time this off-season. In the last decade we screwed up replacing g a kicker and punter. Don't want to put us in a position that may mess up the current kicker and punter. That's how important long snap is. I wouldn't move scales.

If it's only two Qbs, you can keep Baskerville. Like any other decent players, you have to hope they make it through waivers to the practice squad. I understand the rule is you cannot have an emergency QB unless he's on the 53 man roster. The only one I COMPLETELY disagree with you on is Elijah Hicks. I'd bet my last he squeezes by and makes this team over Tarvarius Moore.... Also my "Possibles" are another CB (Either Jaylon Jones OR Greg Stroman) making it OVER Collin Johnson(WR) because they won't count Velus as a "RB" (per sé) and they'll position him as a weapon or an "ATHLETE" like some colleges do and he'll end up getting reps as a RB, WR annnd KR. But essentially he can be that make-shift 6th WR if and when they need one....Lastly it's quite the long shot BUT Noah Sewell probably should be holding his breath hoping he's a lock to make this team BUT if they cut him they'd add an additional OL and that'd more than likely be JaTyre Carter ONLY because Borom has $3 Mil due to him if he makes the roster.
