Why do people assume Warren is the guy holding the cards? The team told you when they hired him that his job was to facilitate the new stadium. He is there for the owners to make more money via the stadium - lots of money. He is not a football guy but you all insist on giving him responsibilities the team hasn't given him. Hey when they tell you what the man is there to do - believe them.

Exactly, and he's never been in a role that extended to making personnel decisions. The common demonominator is that pitiful ownership that's been there entirely too long. The same "owner" that upon last appearing to the podium admitted to being clueless as far as NFL operations. Ryan Poles has little respect from me in the matter also seeming that he refused to even interview other candidates upon hire, and basically agreed to go with the lame McCaskeys selection for HC. He also has had 3 to improve the OL. Employing the appropriate HC is one of your major fulfilments as a GM off of the bat. The franchise needs to be sold immediately...

Hiring a defensive head coach would be more of the same. Williams needs an offensive minded coach and the team needs to give them three years before they even consider firing or trading either one of them. Chicago will do Chicago things though.

Fire Flus and O-line coach Morgan TODAY! Forget Vrabel. Tell Warren to focus on a stadium -which is why he was hired, and leave the coaching to someone who actually knows the players/game-side of football. Tell Poles his sole focus for 2025 is to build a "Top 5" O-line, or he's gone too. Allow Brown to lead the team for rest of the season as the OC, and "Asst HC" without making him the HC, to see how/what he might do leading a team for the remainder of this season. (His track record in previous coaching roles shows he's a very solid coach, but not sure if he's ready to be a HC yet.) This way, if he isn't ready, but the offense continues to improve, he can stay on as OC and Asst HC. Then if McCaskey won't spend the $ to get Johnson from Detroit, you'll have an idea if Brown is a legit option or not. The two BIG ?'s on this are: will McCaskey actually care enough about winning to spend the money necessary (very doubtful); and would Johnson take a chance on his first HC job with a franchise as dysfunctional and lost as the McCaskey's organization continues to be?

I hate that people think that ben johnson is just this drag and drop guy thats going to be perfect for the team when he’s never done anything until brad holmes built a perfect team for him. Hes been in the league for almost 10 years as a qb and wr coach for ryan tannehill and jarvis landry who was already a weapon out of college. Ben johnson sounds just like flus and nagy in press conferences. He is boring and is clearly not the leader in that room. Its dan campbell. Not to say that ben cant. But weve done this before with these first time guys. Go out and get vrabel. Hes for sure going to be a good leader and be able to command the ship and from there you trust his veteren coach judgement in picking ocs and dcs

Ben Johnson to the Bears means a BIG LOSS to the Lions. In hockey, when you beat a divisional opponent, it’s a “4-point win”. I want one of those. Taking Ben Johnson away from Detroit would be like the 90s Bears signing Barry Sanders away. Just do it.

Nowhere near signing a Barry smh. That dude has never even served as an HC before anywhere ever. Plenty of solid OCs fail as HCs. The Lions are productive offensively courstesy of their great run game leading the attack this season. They certainly wouldn't look as good without that aspect of their offense. Amon Ra and especially Sam LaPorta's numbers are way down this season. I can see you making that comparison if they were getting Mr. Campbell, perhaps or at least someone with a handful of previous HC experience.
