When your team is bad, with no playoffs in sight, all you can do is look to get better. And a great draft is the best way to do that. It gives you some hope.

Should do a "Bears hire 3-4 Head Coach" Mock Draft. Pretty sure they wanna go 3-4 and see they may fix the DL quicker doing so. 💯
@Anouar-xd3zq2 күн бұрын
Idk about that considering we don’t have any personnel that could play a 3-4 besides maybe Gervon at 3-4 DE. I don’t see Montez as a stand up 3-4 edge.
@MrJewish360sКүн бұрын
Obviously don't know what a 3 4 is we would need two more Middle Line backers and rushing outside linebacker which we don't have either going 3-4 is unrealistic unless we traded and also in order to go 3-4 can gervon play that 3tech
@guamiedinhoКүн бұрын
Wrong personnel. We have one 4-3 DE in Montez Sweat and a bunch of cover 2 style linebackers.
@terrymcgovern3695Күн бұрын
All these guys saying it can’t be done. Dexter, Billings, Walker, and a rookie DL is a good start. Teams play 3-4 with much worse, and over half the snaps will still be nickel package anyway. Edwards and Edmunds can play MLB, Sewell (a good blitzer) plays OLB along with a rookie ED, and Sweat plays the other “OLB” even though he maybe drops into coverage twice a game like most 3-4 OLBs. If we get Vrabel, we definitely won’t be playing a 4-2-5 cover 2 defense.

I am really hoping we can get maybe Ryan Kelly and Trey Smith in FA. Possibly trade down to pick 15 or 16 for additional 2nd rounder. Maybe grab Pearce, trade back up in late first round with the Carolina pick and extra 2nd rounder to grab Nolan if he's still available. Then use the third 2nd round pick on someone like Donovan Jackson. Then take best player available in 3rd Round, maybe any OL/DL or RB that slipped.

The Bears have a few major needs: Edge, DT, OT, OG, C, RB Trade downs are fun and all but I want Mason Graham. He is amazing and their isnt any DT quite like him. He reminds a lot of Warren Sapp. There are Edges, OT's, OG's, C's & plenty of RBs but there are no mason grahams. If we get top 7 we may be able to get him. With Allar now in the Draft it may mean that 3 QB's are taken in the top 10. add in Travis Hunter, Tetairoa McMillan, Abdul Carter & Will Campbell. if the Bears are #7 we can get graham. Then, we can add OG, OT, C & RB later on in the draft. If i cant get Graham or maybe Abdul Carter then i'd trade down. Pearce & scourton are studs i'd love for the Bears to draft.

@terrymcgovern3695Күн бұрын
I'm wary of Pierce Jr for a 4-2-5 defense at his weight. He's listed at 245 which means he's actually 240. His run defense is highly rated, but we've seen a dozen of these 240-245 guys come out lately and have terrible NFL run defense because the offensive linemen in today's game are athletic enough to at least force them into a bad position. If he weighs in at 250 at the combine, or if The Bears switch to a multiple front (McDonald-style) defense, then I'd be all in.
@BeardownsportsКүн бұрын
Micah Parsons is 6'3" / 245 I want a bigger run stopper too though
@terrymcgovern3695Күн бұрын
@@Beardownsports And the Cowboys get GASHED on the ground year after year. That's more on the interior than on him, but I wouldn't say he helps it - he's an average run defender. In my opinion, any of the McDonald/Harbaugh-tree guys would be a better fit for him than Zimmer. I still have Pierce as a first round grade in a class with only a handful of first-round grades, but I'm lower on him for the Bears in particular until we know the defensive situation. Other guys are more scheme-independent.
@jerardgeorge741514 сағат бұрын
Alway enjoy the mock drafts because i don't follow to much college ball. Only thing that concerns me on this one is waiting till the 7th round to pick up a Center.
@Beardownsports14 сағат бұрын
It's not a strong Center class. Coleman Shelton is literally twice as good as any rookie center coming out of college. I would bet money that the Bears resign Shelton to a 1 to 2 year deal and draft a rookie to "try" to develop. But you're rolling dices if you don't resign Shelton

Hey Adam, long time viewer first time commenter. Thanks for keeping it real and not falling for the echo chamber narrative about our O line. I have been a Bear Fan for well over 5 decades and I think your analysis of this teams abysmal performance this year is right on! Quick question for you... If they do what most expect and hire Vrabel, how will that impact their current defensive personnel and draft strategy, knowing they would move to a 3 - 4 ?? Thanks
@BeardownsportsКүн бұрын
Even more reason for us to have to invest in the defense. We have some players that have dropped back in coverage in certain plays already this year so it would be interesting to see what they would do. Austin Booker would definitely have more of a role carved out for him. Remember in the combine how he addressed the differences and how he preferred a 3-4 scheme.

Its gonna depend on what position(s) they sign in free agency. Bears need 3 or 4 new starters on OL, At least 2 new DL, and 1 LB wouldnt hurt. If Bears can get Mason with that 1st pick, it makes it easier with the next 2 picks, which should be OL.
@Beardownsports2 күн бұрын
Depends on the O linemen there. It will definitely depend on who's on the board where, but the Bears have TONS of options with our needs
@patrickthompson4597Күн бұрын
Bears fans, please cheer for Jalen Milroe and Drew Allar to go off in the bowl and playoff games. Let’s get more QB’s pushed up the board so we can have more trade down options and/or get these blue chips guys to fall. Like Odunze did for us last year. 🙏 🐻
@migueltovar743323 сағат бұрын
The right answer is Jeanty. Poles missed on CW, don’t miss a chance to pivot and focus on the running game. The Bears have enough resources to fix the Oline without using elite draft capital. Swift is an average to below average RB.
@Beardownsports22 сағат бұрын
Jeanty is the biggest overdraft this century. Take Scattebo in the 3rd and get a back twice as talented. Use draft capital in the first few rounds where it should be.

Adam, would you consider on your next mock, going just a teensy bit “Ryan-Pace-Style” and sacrifice a 2026 First and a kicker in order to get another 2025 First somewhere in the teens? You can then for sure get 2 OLs and 2 DLs with your first 4 picks and have a lot more flexibility in the 3rd and beyond.
@guamiedinhoКүн бұрын
I would rather trade down from #9 to mid or late teens for an extra 2nd rounder, this would give us three 2nd round picks. Then use the two of the three 2nd round picks to trade back in the mid 20s. This would give us a shot at getting 2 quality DL and 1 OG/OT from the draft, plus hopefully someone like Ryan Kelly and/or Trey Smith from Free Agency. I want to save my 2026 first round pick as I am hoping the C and OT class will be a lot better in 2026.
@CanadianChiGuy23Күн бұрын
@ I wouldn’t mind that either, but double moves are a lot harder to pull off.

That makes me laugh. But already having two 2nds, we don't have to sacrifice that much to get another second, then we'd have plenty in this draft to get our needs. This draft is deep on D trenches

- The players already on the roster have no incentive to tank. As a matter of fact they were tired of losing and got their HC fired. - Thomas Brown was making his HC debut and how he does as Bears interim HC dictates whether or not he’ll be a HC in Chicago or elsewhere next year. - Ryan Poles’ seat is getting warmer with each loss now that his guy Matt Eberflus is gone. So no, the Bears were not tanking, they really were that dysfunctional and bad. The fact that people thought they were tanking when they tried to win that game goes to show how dysfunctional and pathetic they were last Sunday.

Even if the Bears lose out, it is likely that they will remain in the #9 spot. The Bears have the highest strength-of-schedule (SOS) in the NFL, since that is the first tie-breaker they will lose a tie with anyone. So, any team (NE, CAR, JAX, TEN, NYJ, and CLE) that has 3 wins would have to win 2 games to fall behind the Bears.

Problem is we need a lot of those bad 3-10 teams to win two games, so that we have a worse record. Right now we have the strongest schedule on paper, so if we have the same record as other teams, in a head to head, we are going to get the latter pick. I can't see us picking higher than 7th, can only see Carolina and Jacksonville having any chance of going 2-4 with their remaining games. Maybe move Wright to RG, because unless he’s physically AND mentally healthy, that may be the best for him?!?!? Edmunds isn’t really playing up to his contract. Edwards has been really good but that’s about it for the linebacker room. You can never have enough corners or safeties and to me, that stunt he pulled in Washington and his trip on that Lions WR on the sideline, that’s inexcusable behavior for sure. He’s got to go if you’re trying to mold great culture for your team. Also, a TE who can block that isn’t old enough to survive the Titanic would be decent, too.
