ImJoqo As a Padres fan I couldn't even believe but when the Cubs when the lost in the NLCS in 2015. Still no peace for Steve Bartman. The man stated that he just wants to be left alone. That's not a request out of spite. He was a normal person who got thrust into the spotlight and forever had his anonymity replaced with infamy, simply for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. It could have easily been some other person. So, leave him alone. No requests his way. He didn't want any attention in 2003, and he doesn't want any attention now.
@Jay-kw9nh8 жыл бұрын
There's nothing worse than a shitty, self absorbed sports fan. It blows me away there are still people unable to let that unfortunate incident go. There's a documentary by ESPN called "Catching Hell" about Bartman and it's just sickening what that guy had to endure. And after all the crap he's been put through, he recently had this to say (through an attorney) when asked if he would be attending the victory parade: "We don't intend to crash the parade. The one thing that Steve and I did talk about was if the Cubs were to win, he did not want to be a distraction to the accomplishments of the players and the organization." That says a hell of a lot about the character of Steve Bartman.
@mshockey738 жыл бұрын
Well said Meh-Tyu & Captain Spaulding. I don't remember if it was in the first round of this years play-off's or the second but some idiot who was sitting in the front row had made a Bartman sign so every time the camera would shoot a close-up of the batter you'd see the stupid sign:( The way the Cubs fans treated Bartman that day was unforgivable in my book.....
@thorpizzle8 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I think I know the sign. I believe it was in the first part of the World Series. It will be a long time before his name goes away from public consciousness, especially among Cubs fans. But leave him alone and let him live as normal a life as he can.
@nanceruth8 жыл бұрын
I'm a born and raised Cubs' fan. I think you're mistaken. The majority of Cubs' fan were upset with the players, not Mr. Bartman. It makes me ill what that one moment has done to his life, but most Cubs' fans were po'd that the "professionals" couldn't get their sh*t together and play like they were paid to. My heart has always gone out to Steve Bartman. I just want to clarify and ask that you not lump all Cubs' fans in with a small group of idiots that won't let it go. p.s.The trio sitting on this couch are 3 great guys that probably would stand up for Steve Bartman to anyone that wanted to go head to head with them.

tyo789 This event, the destruction of Steve Bartman, is exactly why millions of baseball fans and people who are not fans of baseball hate the disgusting evil cubs and their fans. The throwing of trash, beer, food, spitting on him, threatening to murder his family and he, and more things that most didn't see give the overall impression and demonstration that cubs fans are the scum of the Earth. Easily the most pathetic excuses for human beings on Earth. Selling their souls to win a WS and then giving Bartman a WS ring was a pathetic attempt to make up for that behavior they showed to him, a fellow cubs fan... garbage organization, garbage fans... Go Brewers!
