Loved this show! I remember after Mandy Patinkin left, Adam Arkin received top billing, since he was there from day 1. Christine Lahti thought she should get top billing because she had won an Emmy. So they alternated each week

Chicago Hope's theme music was the best. Well, mostly. Season 1, lyrical. Season 2-5, dynamic. Season 6 -- muddled and sadly fitting for CH's final-season decline in quality and acting talent. The S1 theme is one of those rare pieces of music that makes me lean back and shut my eyes, forget the 'normal' world, and for a moment immerse myself in its world. It still does, and the S1 theme is on many of my music playlists. S2-5's dynamism and drum line, so like a heartbeat, fit CH the best. But I mourned the passing of the S1 theme. Thanks for letting me relive it.
Oh how I Loved Chicago Hope 💕 The theme songs were awesome, especially from season 2, 3, 4, 5 - All a little different, each season a little more spice, just, ya know, sexy and captivating Nice 😊

I wrote my own personal episode of this show for closure since it ended on a cliffhanger but I think they should do some sort of crossover with Chicago Med. Since both shows took place in the same universe, my idea would be that Gaffney Chicago Med was originally Chicago Hope and Hector Elizondo plays Dr. Philip Waters who comes in with medical condition and explains what happened to the hospital when the series ended.

Chicago hope shouldve crossed over with ER . They would’ve had help from Mark Greene , Doug Ross & John Carter

SHOUT! Factory needs to make a USA release of this show.
@firelightyear3 жыл бұрын
@Tanjiro Kamado I don't think that would work because 20th century studios (Now owned by Disney) would have the rights to the music that were used in the show...
@firelightyear3 жыл бұрын
@Tanjiro Kamado That's why we need SHOUT! Factory to release this.
@firelightyear3 жыл бұрын
@Tanjiro Kamado Because SHOUT! Might have the music licensing to release the show. Because the show might have references licensed music…

@Tanjiro Kamado Yeah let’s go ask both companies if they can release them.

I love how they changed the music from the second season on-ward to sound a little more like 'ER'.
@maxipazz82143 жыл бұрын
I’m pretty sure that’s not why the changed it, Chicago Hope has its own identity, not ERs
@johnlatham12503 жыл бұрын
@@maxipazz8214 true, but I can't think of too many other shows that reinvented their opening credits - and their theme song - as many times as this did.
@darrenhood40333 жыл бұрын
@@maxipazz8214 oh the music was definitely changed to be more on par with ER. Chicago Hope had a lot of capital invested within it, and all the buzz surrounding the show was positive. David E Kelley could do no wrong at this time. So when NBC put their medical drama in the Thursday slot it was assumed that Chicago Hope would crush it. Then the opposite happened and ER blew CH out of the water. Ratings were so bad that CBS ordered massive retooling to compete. The theme song, the sudden change in tempo becoming less a character ensemble and an action drama. All of it done in am effort to keep CH alive.

Too bad they ruined it in season 6.

I must have missed this series because I never liked medical procedures shows. I prefered police shows such as NYPD and Law And Order. And the fact that I was too busy working hard to watch much television during the late 1980s to the mid 1990s.

No time like the present to catch up. Chicago Hope was one of the best cast, acted, written and directed, and most creative shows ever. (Season 6 notwithstanding, though it's still worth watching.)
