I’m a native Chicagoan and first time marathon runner this year. This is the most clutch video ever. Sending this to all my friends and family to stalk me. Love your videos. They’ve helped calm me down before he race. Thank you!

Fond memories from the 2019 Kofuzi shakeout run. Back in town but the 2019 fitness is a distant memory. CHI Marathon should pay you money for this one. The best spectator guide ever. Have fun on Sunday.

Wish I'd discovered you back in 2018 when I ran Chicago, fell in love with the city and haven't been able to get back into the marathon, but hopefully in 2021. Your videos of the city have only stoked my desire to go back (I'm in Boston), and it's definitely helped motivate me to keep running thru these crazy pandemic times, so thank you for helping fuel the fire that helps motivate me to get back out there!

Thanks Kofuzi! The riverwalk guide was brilliant: it was so easy to view mile 1 and 3 yesterday (2024 marathon) using this method. Had the best seats in the house for mile 1 (arrived early of course) right on the roadside. And I felt brave and did go the Divvy bike route: what a great way to follow the runners. The only problem was that the footpaths were packed, but because Chicago is laid out like a grid you could easily get around this by cycling one street parallel to the course. I saw a few of the Divvy brigade doing that (at speed). The only thing was I was a bit foggy with navigation being new to town but other than that I felt it was the next best thing to being actually in the marathon (my wife ran it and pb'd having entered with injury and having taken a heavy fall to the side at mile 2 landing on the neck and shoulder area and pulled immediately back up by some unknown angel of a person). So in short, thank you for this guide. Got such good spectating value from knowing about the riverwalk and the Divvy bikes and Divvy bike app. And wow you Chicagoans know how to cheer and strangers I asked directions of and spoke to were so helpful. Thank you for a great marathon (spectating experience).

The “clutchness” of this video is all the way up there! From best places to watch to how to get around, this could easily be titled a “KZbinr’s guide to the Chicago Marathon” !

18th st pink line is just a few blocks west of loomis and 18th if people want to catch their runner there and then ride the pink back into the loop for the finish. would probably have to forfeit chinatown and michigan ave unless the runner is on the slower side.

Take the Pink line in the Loop, westbound, to Pilsen. Get off at 18th street. Cheer the runners. Have a taco (or three)! Take the same train back to the Loop.

Thank you so much for this! I am planning on coming down just to soak in the atmosphere and cheer everyone on and was wondering what the best viewing options would be. Gave me lots of food for thought! Best of luck to you in the race. I also am going to try to make your shakeout run on Saturday morning if that still is happening. Do you know what time approx. that you will be starting?
