Some commenters have suggested Oak Park is "upscale". Well, some of it is, but not all. The dividing line is pretty much the railroad embankment cutting through the middle (Originally the Chicago & Northwester, now the Union Pacific with the Lake Street El also on the embankment). North Oak Park is upscale, similar to River Forest which is next door. South Oak park has less expensive homes and is more similar to Forest Park next door. Many are small lots with older "American Foursquare" houses which is a two story boxy shape with bedrooms in each corner of the second floor. And then there are many apartment buildings in south Oak Park, very few in north Oak Park although some shiny new ones have been built especially around Lake Street. Some older apartment buildings have been converted to condos. A one bedroom condo in an older building is about $150K today or less. Houses in south Oak Park can be around $300K and up. I notice this video was made in 2014 and they mention Kathy Griffin. Considering the controversy, they now probably wished they had picked Betty White or Bob Newhart.
