Chicagoan here. Nationally the country thinks that the South Side is the worst part of the city. In my opinion, the west side is much worse. By the way, in 2023 St. Louis had the highest murder rate in the US.

Homicide rate is not always a good estimate. Chicago as a whole is safer, that’s a fact. But within the ghettos the murder rates are insane, stretching from out west to the south side. The fact that in 2021 there were over 1000 murders in cook county, with 890+ being gang related, with 90% of those being within that stretch I mentioned, that’s unfathomable. I don’t think you realize how high of a number that is.

The generation that grew up in the late 70s destroyed following generations. It all started with the gangster disciples and Latin King gangs. The crime patterns today are a result of these street gangs and their constant expansion and branching off. They have accumulated money from their organized crime syndicates and failed to rehabilitate and refurbish their neighborhoods with this income. Now their children, grandchildren, and great grand children are morally and economically bankrupt and disadvantaged as a result. The Italian mob was like this also but assimilated into society opening up bistros, restaurants, coffee shops, and other small businesses. The Mexican-Americans on the west side have followed this formula of the 1930s Italians of Chicago and run businesses and cater to their communities.

I am not sure you should naively suggest the Italians and Mexicans assimilated and branched out into legitimate businesses. These restaurants etc are just ways of laundering dirty money not trying to go straight. Always remember it is far easier to sell drugs than wait tables and wash pots.

There also isn't an occupying force and government intervention in those neighborhoods you. You see the pattern when our government is in different countries trying to govern other regions it doesn't go or do well. Any type of positive reinforcement that goes on in black communities is met with government intervention and infiltration. If blacks were able to florius in their own communities with no systematic blockades it would far surpass any other ethic neighborhood and the US government knows this Black people must be kept stagnant at all Cost this is a government priority

I’d almost rather walk around North Korea with an American flag than just walk around in this part of town. Sadly, walking around in Chicago and doing that there in North Korea are equally dangerous. This is insane. It all starts in the home. Go do something productive with your lives, young men and women. You owe it to yourselves.
@ChrisJones-qn3cz
@ChrisJones-qn3cz 6 ай бұрын
You’ll never be able to leave North Korea again, you’re a white male, you would get left alone because people would think you are a cop. Minorities never seem to target majorities more so than each other yet these majorities will act like they’re in the biggest danger when in actuality most of the “gangbangers” would target other people of color before targeting you, a School shooter type is more likely to get you but you won’t make weird claim to rather walk around N Korea than those communities lol

@CharlieBo313
@CharlieBo313 4 ай бұрын
First of all I'm not from Chicago or even familiar with the streets you claim I selected to stay near. At night I mostly drive down side streets where people are and main streets that are lighted because otherwise you won't be able to hardly see during the video. So I don't look for "relatively safe areas" I go where ever there is lights and action. Also the main streets are where most of the people, lighting and action is at night in any city.

I’m Latino and grew up on the Latino west side off Laramie and grand ave. The west side is definitely the wildest. Our areas are active and then you got Them Vicekords in Austin that ain’t playing either and then you got Chicago ave and Madison, Cicero ave, all this is active and will get your wig split if you play with fire or be at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Just trying to educate myself here, but do you check in before going to these neighbourhoods? Or do you contact local people online and pay them to go with you? Or do you go alone? I’m just confused as to how you can do this in different neighbourhoods/at night.

He’s black. It’s easy for him to blend in and just mind his business. Sure a few n!ggas might try him and see if he’s a rival but he is an ex police officer. Most likely also has a CPL so he can conduct himself in unfamiliar dangerous neighborhoods without fear of being victimized.

You drove down my ex's street right past the mass shooting location. Still better then her last place a few blocks over, 3 times they shot up the house/people directly across from her. And some kid was killed on the corner. Most of it never makes the news. Driving around like that can get you killed, drugs/dealers/gangs everywhere. You're gonna pull down the wrong block on the wrong day.
