Couldn’t agree with you more. I ask friends who are lifelong basketball enthusiasts if they watch the WNBA and the overwhelming reply is no. These ladies are so undervalued and underpaid. Hope that dynamic changes as the league keeps get better and better each year.

I agree. Granted that NBA is more athletic than the WNBA but these girls can put up a good show and competition. The pace is quite fast and these ladies hustle too. Saw the G5 of Aces and Mercury, man it was a nail biter also.

Apparently viewership for the WNBA is really low compared to the NBA. Apparently the league operates at a financial loss every year and continues to be propped up by the NBA. All the major sports leagues had to fight for decades to get their share of the financial pie. NBA, NFL, MLB player associations have had to strike against their respective ownerships with various amounts of success. Don’t blame the consumer for not showing enough interest in the ladies league. If the product is entertaining enough, the market will reflect that. The WNBA is still a relatively young league, and if it continues to grow, we might see the huge paydays we’ve come accustomed to seeing in the other major leagues. Unfortunately for the current WNBA athletes, they’re probably just paving the way for generations to follow. Taking inflation into consideration, Joe Montana would have made about $350,000 his rookie year. Kellen Mond will be making close to a million his rookie year. So I ask, are the WNBA players actually underpaid? Or just paid an appropriate market value. With that being said, I’m excited to see the league grow into what it CAN be

Fatigued?? I heard the announcers saying that but I didn't see that. Nobody ever accused PHX of being great defensively. No Cunningham or Nurse just highlights that. I saw PHX murdered with off ball and p/r action. Taurasi, yikes, her coverages were atrocious. I'd like to see PHX do what they can to improve that. Sky are not a great match up for them, with their style and personnel.
