GREAT video! I was lucky enough to be there during a Monet exhibit- just PHENOMENAL! This place is like no other... when you see the more 'popular' paintings (like American Gothic) it literally takes your breath away! Can't wait for a chance to go back!

This is me KC. I sure wish could meet and show you all the schools, museums and beautiful restaurants that are housed in those tall buildings along the magnificent mile of Michigan Avenue alone!!! I used walk around to do videos of films on a cam- Corder back in the late 1980's similar to doing what you are doing now. When I look at your videos l talk to it and say to your videos, "Go this way, go that way." I would say, "Go on this street or that street or turn here on that street!" I hope someday you can visit New York City. NYC is also a beautiful city and a great place to live and visit. Like Chicago, New York City has many hidden treasures. l appreciate all the videos, it's like it's reminding me how blessed l was to live in Chicago. I love Chicago and always will. God bless you. Again Love, Peace to you. ✨️❤😊

Hi Gemini, this is KC. l see here in your latest video of visit the Art Institute of Chicago. I am so glad you visited the museum. Here's where l went to study art, painting and architectural design there. I had a long story texted to you about of how l want to get into the Art Institute of Chicago. But l took it out cause l thought you may not be interested in learning about me, my life of how got into the the school. Attending this school was one of my dearest dreams. I was an out of town student who wanted to attended school there. I was temporarily homeless looking for housing there. So l would sleep on the streets of Monroe and Washbash until l found housing, and to attend the Art Institute of Chicago. It was just a brief period. Once l got on my feet with housing for out of town students and landed a job in Chicago. The rest is history. As l stated before there were few opportunities for many African American to attend the Art Institute of Chicago back then during the 1930's ,1940's, 1950's, 1960's. That's before my time. Many people in Chicago told me these stories of their time. I won a scholarship to attend there in the late 1980's and early 1990's. I was grateful to have attend the Art lnstitute and graduated from there. This is where l started my career as an art Curator and Associate Professor there in Chicago. Starting with the Art Institute as a intern student while working on my degrees of study, BFA and Masters of Art Education. I also worked on but did not complete the Doctrine Degree in Art Curation which is my 30 credits above my masters degree. All l needed was six more credits. But l decided to teach full time in Chicago. I taught as an associate Professor as well as an college Professor at both Chicago University, Wilber White College De Paul University which l served there as a substitute teacher there and studied there. And at DuSable High School on the west side of Chicago. I wondered if the DuSable High School still exist? I was an intern art curator while l was still in school at the the Art Institute of Chicago before coming to New York. I often would tell my students never up on your the dreams, just believe; cause it can come true. Gemini, l hope you don't mind of me sharing my stories with you. You are capturing the fond memories l have of Chicago. I live in New York City now. And l am a teacher and artist. I am glad to see you looking at the works of the French Impressionist painters such as Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh, Paul Cezenne, Renoir and Mary Cassatt just to name a few. The Impressionist Period was a free period of expressionist of light and color that captures a mood and feeling. The works of Picasso and other forms of art and sculptures. On the south side of the art lnstitute is were the students go to study art. 🎨 l hope you go back and see some of the African Americans painters such as Agustive Savage, a sculptist who sculptured "Lift Every Voice and Sing." Also Alma Thomas, John H. Johnson, Horace Pippen, Kara Walker and The two African American Artist who painted the portrait of Michelle and Barack Obama. I forgot their names. However, their art work was exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago in 2022. I saw their art there at the museum. Also Jean Michel Basquiat contemporary artist, Edmonia Lewis, Elizabeth Catlett and Bisa Butler another contemporary artists who painted the African American life in modern times. Just to name a few, you will find their art work there at the art lnstitute as well. Gemini, l hope you would want to visit the Du Sable museum, it also hold rich a wealth of rich history of African American art and artifacts of history there. I wish you can see my art work as well. However, l am full time teaching to my students the beauty of art of who they are. Gemini as l stated to before; you are greatly appreciated for posting your wonderful walks of Chicago. Thank you for sharing and God bless you & keep you safe. Keep doing the good work you are doing. Love, Peace to you. From: kc ❤️😊
