This method of cleaning is becoming increasingly popular in the automotive industry due to its effectiveness and efficiency.
During the interview, we will cover a range of topics related to dry ice blasting, including its benefits, how it works, and its applications in the automotive industry. We will also discuss any potential limitations or drawbacks of this method of cleaning.
Whether you're a professional in the automotive industry or simply curious about this innovative cleaning method, this interview is sure to provide valuable insights and information. So, sit back, relax, and let's learn more about dry ice blasting!

@13:55 - RIP seat cover. Very fascinating tool, though. Seems like a great option for more durable materials. I wonder - I didn't see a vacuum to collect all the liberated crud. Is that a normal part of the process? It may not matter for undercarriage cleaning, where you can sweep up the bay afterward. But on an interior, isn't there a noticeable amount of dust collecting below the work area?

I was struck by how well Chicago Auto Pros folded together, from multiple settings across the country, a thoughtful, frank, and entertaining video on a topic nobody else has come close to explaining in this way. Kudos to the video and sound editors. I liked the way the film explores both sides of the coin and lets the viewer decide for themselves whether they think this technology would be a fit or not for them and their business.

Jason, about 30 years ago, my boss asked me to investigate dry ice for cleaning wheel loader frames after machining at Caterpillar in Aurora. I didn't go any farther with it because the removal speed wasn't fast enough for our operation at the time. We needed to be able to clean 17 rear frames, front frames, and lift arms per shift.

I really appreciated the way you explained basics of ice cleaning. I was googling about it for a few days, and all I could find was some bits and parts of info, saturated with some pro slang, jumping back and forth ... I still didn't get it. THIS video helped me A LOT. When you want to explain something to a novice - talk like you would to a 5 year old kid ... or golden retriever. Leave that pro mumbo-jumbo for latter to impress somebody else. THANKS!!!

Running a large volume compressor, do you also need a refrigerated dryer? I can imagine that inducing the compressed air condensation into the dry ice stream and onto the surface being cleaned could be bad without a dryer, even with a holding tank.

A refrigerated dryer won't cut it in most parts of the world. In the desert or arid locations, yes. Everywhere else you must run a desiccant dryer.

Question: From a customers perspective once one has invested in having the undercarriage ‘dry iced’ and have everything looking brand new from this process - is there a clear protective long lasting coating that can be applied to the to the undercarriage (once dry iced) to save the investment of probably a couple thousand dollars that was spent to clean up this area of the vehicle? Or is this something that has yet to be considered. I’d like to hear your thoughts on this for those of us who would appreciate protection on the undercarriage once dry iced.

There's a lot of permanent solutions like anti rust coatings or rubber coatings but in all honesty, it just gives you an extra layer between grime and body part. Doesn't save you the trouble of going through cleaning and all again just prevents any damage that may come over prolonged exposure to said grime and stuff. Not super detailed but hope it helps

what happens to the material that you knock off the car? is there a pile of dust and greasy shit under the car, not an issue I just wanted to know. I'm thinking of setting up my son with the equipment for use in the Long Isand region. Im hiring a research firm to collect data on the viability of such a business. There are millions of detail and wrap shops, so the cars are here. However I don't know how many machines are already in the area. Not just focused on cars either, seems it would be helpful for many other businesses, but are they willing to pay?

All forms of cleaning are the same. You're just moving dirt from one place to another. In this process, the dirt falls to the ground or any horizontal surface. Initially, most of it is atomized. But eventually it succumbs to gravity which is why we perform the work in a container space like a paint booth but the opposite. A paint booth is meant to keep dirt out. Our booth is specifically and specially designed to keep the dirt in!

Yes but you can move the dirt through the air from the drivers seat to the passenger seat with this machine. Your car is ready bro. Ya we vaporized that pile of dog shit in he back seat. We froze dat bitch then blew it up.
