I love the book. He's my favorite philosopher on identity issues.

This is so interesting. I'm about to buy the book, so I thought I'd have a listen to what he has to say about it first.

I've yet to read a single thing this man has written that isn't chilling. He's a deep-dyed misogynist, a monument of self-absorption. How he has so many intellectuals snowed I'll never understand, but I assume there'll be one of those "oh, how could he, we had no idea, now what'll we do with all these books of his" moments at some point.

Funny :) I made a vid 13 years ago about how "the west" is more a mental "wafer" easily deconstructed and appropriable by whoever wants to use that panidentity for whatever purpose:) I told my son : Take Hilbert or Rousseau, Or Ibn Khaldun or Einstein or Socrates... A Chilean or a papu or an Inuit or a Senegalese ..can appropriate the heritage of those masters if he or she masters their field of speciality..more than any German, Muslim ( arab or persian or amazigh etc) or french ..or greek who did not have any interest in studying those :)
