Voight is one of the best characters in recent history that’s on television right now ever created along with Bill Hader’s character “Barry” Anthony Carrigan’s “No-Ho Hank” and Henry Winkler’s “Gene Cousineau” from the same show Barry in my personal opinion. His voice or just a single look from him would make me confess everything, even stuff i wasn’t even being questioned about because he’s that intimidating! Why the actor has never been nominated for his performance of the character I’ll never know.
@horacehalt42162 жыл бұрын
Voight’s a corrupt cop. Literally, there’s one rule for him and then there is the law that everybody else has to follow.
@22espec2 жыл бұрын
He reminds me to 'Vic Mackey' from the Shield
@nightwingman6662 жыл бұрын
He may have only been in a few episodes but Rixton was about as close to a junior Voight than any other character on the show past or present. He was quick to act, aggressive, yet knew when to be reserved and street smart knew to go other ways to solve a case besides the by the book ways he did have an informant that was a high ranking gang member in one episode. But the most important thing was despite his questionable reputation as in a later episode Rixton was a good detective he knew exactly who he was he didn’t flipflop between how he did things and didn’t act like an entitled boy scout when others did the same actions as him and he didn’t take kindly to sanctimonious people like Halstead and Atwater who questioned his integrity. Everyone else since who tries to be Voight-lite has failed miserably Ruzek is too impulsive and reckless all emotion no brain, Halstead is a hypocrite likes to think he’s some faultless saint and remains blind to his own sins like when he got Marcus West killed and Upton is too wishy washy picking and choosing when to use Voight’s methods or when to preach morality was okay to kill Darrius Walker for her CI but killing a cold blooded murderer like Roy Walton who shot Kim like a dog she gets weak knees. This is what is missing these days on PD someone like Rixton who agrees with Voight or is seen as an equal to him like Antonio and Olinsky were.

@alexandraluna10382 жыл бұрын
The guy who got slammed into the wall was obstructing the police, they arrested the guy at the end because he was a suspect in a murder investigation and they didn't barge into the houses, they asked to enter and then asked again if they could search. They did not search the house without permission or without a warrant so they didn't do anything illegal, also this show is meant to be dramatic so of course everything isn't necessarily how procedures would go in real life.

Depends on how you look at it - Chicago has the disadvantage of a population of 2.7 million, so more chances for the stats to build up. St. Louis, for example, its nearly 200 murders for a population of about 300,000. That's about 3 times the per-capita rate of Chicago.

A familial dna sweep is ridiculous just being related to a criminal is not reason enough to be put on a database
@leedaniso2 жыл бұрын
It is if you're also a criminal, they have the DNA of the offender but they don't know who it is because he's not in the system.. so if they find that someone he's related to him is on the system they can then ask him or her for help to find the offender
@lindseymcdougall3603 Жыл бұрын
They arelooking for close but not exact matches to the suspect’s dna. So if the suspect’s father or mother had a criminal record and has their dna on the database, they find that close match (they share 50% of dna with their child). You then start looking at the person on the database’s family. So is there anyone who would fit the match. If its a 50% match do they have a child, sibling or parent that could be the suspect and then investigate them. Its about narrowing down from potentially thousands to one family. That family maybe be big, but its less than they had. It is a genuine technique that gets used. Its just a bit legally and ethically dodgy as it is relatively new. Its called forensic genealogy. I think the golden state killer got identified partly by this technique.
