Thankyou ipod shuffle for selecting this old skool gem while I was cleaning from the Ministry Chill out Album. This song has a timeless quality encapsulating universal themes of love and loss in with a kind of modern fast flowing feel. For all those people who knock dance music as unartistic, this shows what can be done, part of the chill out album, where ravers in Ibiza would wind down to as the sun comes up. When I was 18 was some of the happiest times of my life, that spirit of that time will last forever in my heart, the days when clubs hadnt been knocked down into flats, where nighlife was a massive part of british culture, where you could smoke in a club, or get a girls number without having to fill out an application form on a dating site. feel sorry for the young people of today, in this cynical world of austerity where 18 is the new 40.

I was sitting in my friend's car one night, smoking cigarettes. Then she played this song and said it's Chicane. And that's all I remember. Searched it just now but can't remember the title, so I clicked on the first one. We were so clueless back then, but twenty years later, we're okay and we still communicate. She lives in Singapore and I live in Switzerland. Worlds apart, but this song brings me back to that night when life was so simple and chaotic all at once, two college kids studying design in Manila. And here we are, twenty years later, stopped smoking since. Man, it's been a great ride, so much changed, in this school of life. Maybe in the next 20 years, I'll listen to this again...

This song transcends time and genres, it is simply a beautiful and timeless piece of music that speaks to the soul. The lyrics, the vocals, the chords, beautiful, comforting, yet bittersweet. A perfect reflection of life its self. Chicane really made some outstanding records in the 90s and early 00s. Most kids today have no idea about music like this, more is the pitty, its 100 times better than anything released nowadays!
