We don’t think you’ll be disappointed! It is an excellent infant car seat, in our opinion. It is just that, though - an infant car seat. So, when your kid gets to roughly 1 y/o you’ll be looking for another seat that they can grow with. We chose the Grace 4 in 1 DLX. This one can be used from birth, but you just aren’t able to detach from the base…so going car to car, or carry the child in the seat through a store, for example, isn’t a thing. That’s why we did the Chicco first. We are glad that we did! Being able to quickly detach from the base, place the entire seat in a shopping cart, and go through the store without our child waking up has been a lifesaver!

Does this car seat have the slits that allow it to sit securely at the front of the shopping cart?

Well! You have taught me something!!! I did NOT know about the alternate latching system built into cars. Ive seen those button thingies in my back seat, but never knew what it was for. Pretty cool. And...I didn’t know that the base could be purchased separately. So this Grandma is sure to be compatible to the parents. Going to definitely order the base for easy kidnapping of my little grand!

Do you think this fit comfortably in a small car? We have a 2009 Corolla and wow is it a challenge to find something compact and safe for baby.

I’m not sure how comfortable the person sitting in front of the car seat will be. We do have to slide the seat up a little bit in an Elantra and Camry. I do think you guys would be okay though, if your legs aren’t too long

When using the latch installment, I have more than an inch movement side to side (although very little front to back) no matter how tight I pull the tightening strap. Any suggestions?

Have you tried getting inside of the car so you can push straight down while pulling the strap to tighten?

You're not supposed to use both the seatbelt and latch system. Its one or the other

We have more than one vehicle. With an additional base, we don’t have to reinstall it every time we switch cars.

Congratulations! To buy the car seat or an additional base? If asking about the car seat, yes, I think it’s a great purchase. If talking about a second base, I wouldn’t unless you’re considering the multiple car strategy.

There’s an orange trigger on the back of the car seat (almost in the area of where the child’s head would be…but on the outside of the seat). Simply pull that trigger. Hope that makes sense!

Just installed mine and I'm not thrilled with the movement of the seat when it's on the base but it looks like yours moved too so maybe that's how it is.

Totally understand! I did look into it after I noticed it. It was mentioned in a few forums that the minor “wiggle/wobble” is perfectly normal, and, actually, is by design. It’s purpose is to help absorb impact in the event of an accident. The key is to ensure that the base is secure and not moving more than an inch front to back and side to side.
