3:59 I know exactly why he played that E instead of a D at the start of the tune proper: He was relating this great composition to Bach's great D minor Chaconne for violin. If "Alan Corday" was in D, that first note WOULD be an E!!! ----and it IS A GREAT CHACONNE!!!!
