I got a $20 aftermarket kit (carb, plug, fuel lines, bulb, and air filter) and it runs better that when I bought it. Local small engine wants $110 per hour plus parts. I bought my 125B in 2016 for $150. Now (2024) $190. It definitely would not be worth taking it into a shop, cheaper to buy a new one. But $15-$30 for a new carb is well worthwhile.

Darn frustrating putting in new lines for the first time since I bought it new 2007. Sadly a different vid. popped up that wasn't clear which line went where and my lines fell apart. Soooo, I had fuel filter line going to primer, then to top of carb and leave bottom of carb returning to tank. Total backwards. What should have been 20 minutes ended up being 5 + hours wasted before I got it right. Grrrrr. Wished I had found this video as she is always great at explaining clearly.

I've had a dead Husqvana blower for some time and so glad I didn't throw it away. I had replaced some of the fuel line once before but then had problems again where it wouldn't run and just put it up. Then I saw this video. I ordered the complete kit that she recommends and followed along with the video. Took it outside for the moment of truth and it fired right up. There was only one thing that was a little difficult for me and that was getting the new grommet to click into the fuel tank. I ended up taking the whole tank out where I could get some downward pressure to push the grommet in place. Thank you Chickanic! Great instructions.

I'm retired and took up small engine mechanic-ing about 4 years ago. I've seen lots of what you are showing, but the old dog learned 2 new tricks with this video. 1) "short sux". I have a purge primer as a reference with the attached hoses labeled. I don't need that anymore. 2) Inserting fuel lines - I've been cutting a short point on the fuel line in order to get it started into the tank and fighting with reaching the end in the tank. It's long points for me for. And I am embarrassed to think that I didn't figure that one out...

At Husky service training I was taught to turn course threaded screws in plastic in reverse until you feel it engage the existing threads then tighten. Supposedly keeps you from cutting new threads each time. Although a experienced mechnic will know when that is happening. You've taught me some new methods. Thanks 😊

Good step by step instructions. There's one aspect I would suggest to protect the plastic screw hole threads during reassembly. Most people just start running the screws in clockwise without first lining up the screw threads with the original threads in the hole. This will chew up those plastic threads and eventually with repeated dismantling and reassembly the screws will not tighten. If you put the screw in and then turn it counterclockwise, it will take one full turn or less, you will feel the screw threads seat and lineup in the original hole threads with a little click and the screw will drop just a small distance into the hole. This now means that your original plastic screw hole threads are lined up with the metal screw threads and you won't mess up the threads in that plastic. It's not a bad idea to use this method on the metal screws and threads found on the pull rope housing also. This will save you the possibility of cross threading the metal components.

@@philliphall5198 just a little additional information, I will use a battery screwdriver once I've aligned the screws with the original threads and turned the screw manually about half to one full turn to test the alignment. If the test proves successful, if there are only a few screws I'll do them all by hand but if there are a bunch of them I will then use a battery operated screwdriver with an adjustable clutch set really low to run them all the way in and then tighten them by hand. I use a German torque method, guten tight. LOL

I literally just revived an echo weed eater with new carb kit. $25. Carb, primer bulbs x3 , fuel filter, spark plug and air filter. Then I tried reviving a Ryobi blower. Then I find YOU reviving a blower. 🤔 I’m definitely buying a carb kit for it as well because I disassembled it,cleaned it , compressed air put it back together,ran like a top for a day. Now it won’t start at all. Carb is clogged up. Almost the exact same reason as in your video. Glad I found ya. Keep up the good work 🇺🇸✌️

You seem to be the eternal optimist in cutting the fuel line before inserting it into the tank. I snip it to length only after I get the filter on and can verify how much line I need to connect it to the carb. Theres a few property maintenance companies in southern Ontario who are very happy that you make these videos! I've always been mechanically inclined! But there are SO MANY issues that come up.! You have saved thousands of diagnostic hours for me which helps get the tool back up & running so much faster! I can't afford a Stihl or Echo franchise. Plus they have territorial restrictions! So they wouldn't give me a franchise anywhere around customers. I was at a franchise buying parts the other day, & when customers were bringing tools in for repair, the clerk tells them 4 weeks before they even know whzt is wrong with the tool. One guy had a recoil cord broken. I ciuld have had it replaced in 15 minutes! 😃😀😃 Thanks again Chick!

I admit to being a clean freak when it comes to this type equipment. The first thing I would do is clean before I even started. Then I would clean each part that I remove. I watched thus video and bought a complete kit for my 125B Blower from Amazon. what a great kit less than 20 bucks it came preassembled! all the lines came feed through a new rubber plug for the top of the fuel tank. the fuel lines were all cut to length with the fuel filter already attacked. just pull out the black plug on top of the tank and feed in the new plug and lines. the Fuel Bulb is already attached leaving a short and long fuel line, the short one goes' on the bottom of the carb and long on top. it comes with everything including Air filter, Spark plug, fuel filter and all lines precut easy install.

I watched several you tube videos on repairing my husqvarna 125B leaf blower and yours was the best. Your instructions were clear and concise. It was apparent that you had spent some time preparing your presentation. The camera was such that the viewer could see what you were talking about. I watched it a couple of times and even took some notes. With the new carburator, my leaf blower works like a dream. Thank you. I have one criticism but it is a small one. It is possible to remove the gas tank and the grommet so the fuel line can be fed through the grommet and then attach the fuel filter and feed through he grommet hole without having to fish in the tank for it with hemostats. I intend too watch some more of your videos to see if I can learn any thing about some of my other tools. Thanks

I have noticed that the battery powered blowers just don't have the power and indurance like the gas powered ones . Thank you for all you do with your Repair videos!. I have a No Start ..125B. Seemed to be flooding, Bought new carb and plug.. No difference... bought a spark tester, good spark after the third time of tearing into it, I was going to check the piston for scoring from the Exhaust side. Immediately I noticed the exhaust plug was completely blocked by an insect of some kind. Cleaned the exhaust screen and started on the next pull. Thought that would be something to add to a check list for these 2 cycle engines....

Wow! Amazing fantastic tutorial. My case the company that hired me wanted me to throw the 125B away! As the type of human that I am it did not happen. The company had purchased a back pack blower for me (without consulting me). I hate it so when one of their sister properties was been cleaned I found the blower (125B) and kept it. Yes, the blower has the same issues. I replaced the fuel lines and now I am thinking I switched them. Young lady your a life saver. I just bought an edger that same blower and a Husqvarna weedeater, the two had messed up balls, but on the blower I basically did exactly what you did I’m very mechanically inclined but with this technology we have it’s great that being 51 by learning it by the sweatier Brown, and not having the Internet. My blower was acting exactly like the unit you were working on, and while the lines were not rotted yet, the fuel filter had come off the line. I was able to replace the line and filter easy enough and runs perfectly. Thanks again.

Thanks for the link to the OEM carb kit. My 125B is several years old and runs well now because I take care with managing the fuels I use and proper prepping for winter storage. However, with certainty I am sure a carb overhaul or replacement is inevitable. So, I just ordered a new carb. Keep up the good work. Bill

Great information on the Husky 125B not running full RPM. I just installed a new carb kit. I was able to use my Husky today, but only about 1/2 RPM. After watching your Video, I think my next attempt will be making the filter line in the tank shorter. The one already attached to bulb and filter on the end, was about 10-12 inches long. Filter may not be flat in the bottom of tank causing carb to starve for fuel. The 125B is a great little blower. First time I've had a problem with it in 8 yrs. I use ethanol free gas/oil mix... Thanks!

My Husky weedeater would crank, idle but wouldn't throttle up so I replaced the fuel lines and still wouldn't run properly. Come to find out it was the fuel cap, replaced it since I had another one and has been running fine ever since! Great vid

Outstanding video, there can be one other cause for idle but no throttle up, the flame arrestor screen on the muffler can get clogged as well. Most times if the customer or user is putting too much oil in their fuel it can foul the spark plug as well as clog the outlet screen on the muffler. I'd taken dozens of them apart and clean that screen with a torch or a wire brush. Gas powered engines need to inhale and exhale, clogged screen prevents it from exhaling. Most Mufflers have a removable screen, it's just one small screw. I used to train technicians, they'd be going out of their minds after replacing carburetor and fuel lines only to have the unit not throttle up

Hey Bre, I just took my 525bx to the shop and they quoted me basically needing all you mentioned here with this 125, mine will start but you have to literally constantly fluctuate the choke while holding the throttle to “have a chance” of it staying running. They wanted about $150, I said “yeah that’s ok, thanks though” I only paid $100 for it to begin with. So I’m going to TRY my hand at replacing these items myself.

My brother gave me this blower because it wouldn’t run right. It had spark, comp, bulb and fuel lines looked fine. It would Run on choke was mostly how it would run. I thought fast and slow idle adjustments needed to be tweaked. I bought a adjustment driver set to adjust the fast and slow settings. I made some tweaks and it now runs smoothly.

I have had the same issue with mine, I ordered the kit and install new carb and now the blower will not purge fuel into the bulb, only about 30% fuel and the rest just air. After watching this I believe my new carb diagram sucked in debris from tank as both carbs with new lines on both carbs do exactly the same symptoms. Small amount of fuel, but mostly air. I got so PO'd I went and purchased a new Stihl which runs great, but I walk by the 125b on a daily basis and just shake my head at it. For 50 years I've prided myself on fixing "Anything"; now my ego and self esteem was busted by the darn POS 125b . After watching your video I'm going to check the diagram in new carb and old carb. After that it will be donated to WM Waste Management if I cannot achieve fuel in one of the 2 carbs and 4 bulbs, after 8 teardowns and 30 hours of work. Lol...

I use the Husqvarna 525BX and it's the best hand held blower I've ever used! Sometimes it takes a few seconds to get going on a cold start, but in my 30 years of experience, it outperforms everything else. If you can afford it, professional models are the ones to go for!

Hi it’s Brad from the land down under (Australia 🇦🇺) here and I just thought I’d tell you something that I do to all of my 2 stroke small engines and that is change the two fuel line going through the grommet set up with the Stihl set up with the grommet and fuel lines all in one piece with the filter normally attached to the pick up line I have found they fit just about any engine with that type of fuel set up it’s so easy and inexpensive to just put the stihl fuel lines in kind regards, Bradley.

I have a poulan blower that had a similar problem. however it was only 2 years old when it would not run at full throttle. turns out i had to buy a special carb adjustment tool ( a whopping 4 bucks!!!). a slight turn to richen it up and she runs like a champ! love all your videos!

Just picked up that exact blower for free. The guy was just throwing all of his old stuff out. I took it up the road and it cranked right up. I used it to just blow some stuff off of their driveway, until it ran out of gas. I will definitely be checking the fuel lines often though.

Great tutorial. Bought the carb kit and replaced all, purge ball, lines... He starts, runs, but still won't throttle up without some choke. Also adjusted the carb adjustments. Pulling to crank does have good resistance, which probably has good compression, but doesn't have a tester. I'm not sure what else to do.
