Oh, for sure. And inside stories/references and what not that get layered on top of the lingo make it that much more different. Listening to something when it's on in the car or reacting to it when someone shows it to you really doesn't compare to the experience of being a legit fan of someone's work. That said, there will be music that Chicken introduces Cat to where her level of knowledge or outside interest is equivalent to that of Chicken's here. She may enjoy it in the moment or occasionally vibe to it on a road trip, but it doesn't reach the level to how Cat feels about Britney (or how Chicken will feel about upcoming bands/videos). But that's the cool thing about this format. It allows us to see how different people experience the things we love in different ways.

Hahaha yeah! Chicken had to clarify that he meant he didn't care either way about what she was wearing or whether or not people thought it was raunchy. He felt it was her right to wear what she wants (and to look good doing so). People are quick to overreact to wardrobe stuff like that and then label artists in stupid ways instead of enjoying the music or the theatrics/artistry of it all. Her style matches the aesthetic and that was what should have really mattered. If he hadn't took a second to clarify that he may have been sleeping on the couch. Lolol

It really seems like it! Over 20 years later and people are still talking about it and regarding it as being so iconic. The girls in the front row were reminiscent of the Beatle Mania in their facial expressions and how they were behaving (minus the fainting) with a twinge of shock factor. Totally agree and sorry for the error. There was some issue with the recording software we used the first time around. But for some reason the other 3 videos we recorded on the same day worked perfectly fine, and you could hear the songs really clearly. We just liked the reaction too much to trash the footage over it and we wanted to be sure the reaction actually captured Chicken's true first reaction to it. Sub and we'll get it right next time - we promise! :)

Our commentary also has to add something original of value, whether it's background info, some sort of emotion or a joke. Thems the laws. You might have missed Chicken saying "I like this version of the song." He never actually said anything bad about the song either. Or you might not have known that Marina and the Diamonds is one of his favorite musical artists (and Marina has said that she is heavily influenced by Britney). The more we know when we aren't quick to rush to judgement. :)

Not at all. Again, he commented on the choreo, the dancers pants and movements, and did say he liked the song and certain elements of the song (as well as how it relates to his own experiences) on multiple occasions. People aren't going to react the same way to every song. We all have different experiences with it. But just because someone isn't gushing over something or doesn't reach for compliments doesn't mean they aren't enjoying the experience or that they don't like a genre as a whole. That's part of being real vs. trying to script reactions. That was Chicken's actual experience seeing it for the first time. Considering that you aren't his music library I wouldn't make assumptions about his tastes in music. It's presumptuous. And he may surprise you.
