Really nice build, hope you do more! I am building my own coop right now from lumber off my sawmill but since it decided to snow in the mountains of Colorado today, I am watching videos of other people building coops! Thanks for sharing.

Butler Mill Works Thank you! Have lots more video content coming from the build, not so woodcutting intensive as this one. Hopefully you get some good ideas!

Butler Mill Works... since you're looking at other people's builds, check mine out and let me know what you think! I'm an amateur as you'll gather from my video!

I was beginning to wonder, how many times we'd see you make that same cut....lol Wondering if your company is still in operation. I tried calling once and it went to voicemail, yet I never got a return call. Just wanted to thank you and send pics of my version of The Galveston.

Excellent video! I wish I had your tools when I built my coop! Soooooo... your deep litter method. How deep AND... with deep litter method, how often do you anticipate having to change the litter? Once or twice a year? I want to do deep litter method!

Hi Tony, I bought your plans for the 6 x 12 Houston Coop and they are very helpful! I enjoyed the time lapse video, but it didn't show important parts like building the four walls and how the metal roofing is installed. Please consider adding a video on installing the metal roofing. My coop is coming along well, but I need a bit more instruction on installing the metal roofing panels, like do you use top closures and mastic tape? If so, where are they placed? I reached out via email and got one response, but my other emails & a phone message have gone unanswered. I would love to get my questions answered. Thank you in advance! -Therese

Hey Tony, would you be able to give a ballpark for how much matterials cost to build this coop plan?
@lonestarcoops68894 жыл бұрын
Jessica Reynolds Wood, hardware cloth, metal roof, screws, hinges etc about $950. Additional optional costs would be automatic chicken door, HDPE or linoleum liner for henhouse, plexiglass for the winter windows and paint. A little more expensive than kit coops that run $250-$600 but much more robust final product, with all the amenities necessary to make keeping chickens as hassle free as possible. The covered walk-in run and large clean out doors on the henhouse make life taking care of chickens a pleasure.

Why is it now called a "chicken coop", when it used to be more fitting as "henry"? 😁
