Chicken George is a rooster fighter, a slave, and a descendant of the old African, Kunta Kinte. He earns a pretty living for a slave as a chicken fighter. And as a result, he leads a life of leisure and lavishness. He meets an old friend who he found out bought his own freedom. That served as a wake-up call for Chicken George that there is something greater than his life of comfort. And that something was the concept of freedom.

Kunta too. I’m 53. I saw roots when I was 8 with my pops. Afterwards all the kids in the neighborhood would reinact the scene where Kunta is whipped trying to force him to take “Toby” and Kunta resisted like a dozen lashes.
