That's a meal fit for a king, for sure! And its just like my mom made. Not until she got much older did she let the girls even help in the kitchen and she always cooked good food from scratch for the family. But when she got older she asked me to help roll out the dumplings and I saw why she didn't make it so often anymore. That can be hard work if you aren't in good shape or just plain old. I think cooking was as much for her enjoyment and relaxation as anything else. She looked so sad when she finally had to stop it altogether and we girls had a whole new appreciation for her cooking.

Mmmmmmm Mmmmmmmm Good stuff . I made some Thursday myself ( pretty much the same way you did it with a couple exceptions). I used the Mary Bees frozen dumplings . I add about 1/4 cup of flower stirred into 1 cup of water or broth in the pot to thicken them up, I cheat on cooking the chicken and broth . I buy a good sized rotisserie chicken at Sam's Clun ( $4.99) and throw it in a pot of water and cook it for about an 30 minuets or so to make my broth , Take the chicken out and tear it up to be added later. Strain out all the bones gristles and skin etc. The rest is pretty much just what you did except after I got all my ingrediencies in the pot I dumped it in my crock pot and let it cook on low till supper time . I made some homemade biscuits and cooked some green beans to go along with ours :-) I am a new sub , Looking forward to seeing what you are up to next :-)

My goodness! This looks so yummy Amy! Its funny how we make the same foods as other countries, but call them different names. If we were in Italy it would be called Pasta! Hahaha! Same thing almost, just no baking powder. It looks delicious, I sure am gonna try making them. Most of the time I cook lage portions because I came from a family of six kids. And when we all got together it was alot of people. So now I have to put alot away in the freezer or give it away. For myself I make large pots of soup from the Azores , and put in small containers so I can enjoy through out the month. Living alone you have to know how to store extra food thats for sure! Next time someone asks me for my recipe (which is my grandmother’s recipe) for chicken and dumplings, I’m going to send your video to them. One exception, I add one beaten egg to the dumpling portion. She told me to beat the egg in a coffee cup and add milk to the top. A whole cup of milk would make them too sticky. I also add chopped onion and celery to the chicken while it is boiling.

My Mama used self rising flour for her dumplings and they were delicious. I don't think she ever bought plain flour. She never used a recipe.

@@amyslouisianakitchen hey Amy, I was just watching one of your older videos when you made pan fajitas. Any how you mentioned the purple insulator. Purple is my favorite color also! Well I went on etsy.com and they have purple insulators! About 17 to 19 dollars. Thought I'd let you know. You don't have a email listed so I can't send a pic. But check it out! Good luck!🙏♥️🙋♀️
