Yeah the Tamiya putty is good but is very difficult to work with. I now use AK's Black Widow and Zap a Gap medium CA glue. A good source of wire mesh is dollar store metal strainers and grease splatter screens. On a side note when scratch building using wood i have switched from Balsa wood to Bass wood because it has a better looking wood grain than Balsa wood. I just finished Tamiya's Vespe and the Marder looks to be a perfect companion. Looking forward to you painting/weathering this model. Great job so far !
